Voiced by veteran voice actor Lennie Weinrib, Inch High was a skilled but boastful private detective who had been shrunk to a height of exactly one inch; his specific origin has never been revealed.

Despite his tiny size, Inch High still had a level of strength that was closer to that of a full grown man and seemed to be indestructible, bouncing off walls and falling several stories with nothing ever hurt except his pride. Assisted by his talented niece Laurie, his muscular assistant Gator, and his dog Braveheart, the diminutive detective eagerly accepted investigation assignments from the Finkerton Agency and exploited the opportunities his smaller size provided, such as flying around on a paper airplane or sailing through the air to be caught in a catcher's mitt by Gator.

Apparently, his legal first name was Inch and his legal last name was High (though this may have been the result of a legal name change after whatever accident had left him so small).

In his Saturday morning cartoon series, the storylines were fairly bland, and although the jokes were at times relatively clever and the voice acting was well-executed, the personalities of Inch High and his companions were flat even by Saturday morning cartoon standards, so it is no wonder that the character has made few appearances since his Saturday morning cartoon series ended back in 1973.
