Identity Crisis
First off I just have to say if you haven't read this comic yet you are definitely missing out. This is a must read. The story starts off with the murder of Ralph Dibny's(Elongated Man) wife Sue as Ralph was on a stakeout with Firehawk. It appears the cause of her death was from being severely burned. Green Arrow brings in other superheroes to the crime scene but they are all stumped as to how the killer got in. Dr. Light is the prime suspect and he has hired the assassin Deathstroke to protect him. The reason for Dr. Light being on top of their suspect list is revealed to be that he once raped Sue before and only certain members of the Justice League know that as Zatanna used her magic to erase it from Dr. Lights mind. It is also revealed that wasn't the only time someones mind has been tampered with by Zatanna. It turns out Dr. Light isn't the murderer and that the killer is attacking more victims. The killer hangs Ray Palmer's(Atom) wife Jean Loring from her door and a death threat is sent to Lois Lane saying she is next and that they know who her husband is. Tim Drakes father Jack Drake was next to be attacked and was killed in his apartment. A note was sent to him before the killer entered saying "protect yourself" along with a gun. Batman takes the note from the crime scene before police found it and heads back to the Batcave to solve this mystery. The real cause to Sues death is revealed in a nicely written plot twist. I won't reveal who the true killer was you'll have to read it for yourself to find that out but this is one ending to a comic you wont want to miss.
I have to take my hat off to Brad Meltzer for this well written piece of work. As I said already this is a must read. The art in this seven chapter comic is phenomenal. It also features an introduction by Joss Whedon the creator of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Firefly, Angel and the director for the upcoming film The Avengers. It also has a section at the end called "Brad Meltzer and Rags Morales Dissect Identity Crisis."
