    I waited in San Juan

I come to this series as a complete outsider to the character.  I know nothing of him other than he had a prominent role in Flashpoint (which I didn’t read).  To be fair though I think a lot of people reading this issue would be in the same position as myself as the character, and with that being said I think they did a pretty good job of introducing him.  The issue starts off right away with some intrigue with an incident on a plane and then shows a few flashbacks to indicate that there is something going on with the main character.  The description of him as a special forces soldier turned con man turned terrorist was interesting and the female lead character (is she is meant to stay around I am not sure) also seems to be strongly written.  This all leads to a decent start and a reason to read more.

This issue is instead a slow-burn origin story that eases readers in and doesn't expect any prior Wildstorm knowledge from them. The New 52 is having a way of playing with my expectations. When it came to the Wildstorm books, I expected good things from Stormwatch and to be underwhelmed by solo titles for Grifter and Voo...
