    It seems something about this week in the new 52 has some sort of strange properties.  Either the series are all pretty good to start with, or they almost all hit a point this week where all the previous developments came together to build a decent issue.  This issue falls into the second half.  Although the first two issues were all right, they were focused a lot on violence and not as much on some other important things like plot and characterization.  Here action takes a backseat to the other...

    The story backs off the conflict between Andrew and Mary and introduces us to some of Andrew's allies in the war against Mary's vampire army.The GoodWe finally get a little bit of a breather. The last two issues were basically just a sparring match between Andrew and Mary, with each side sort of sharpening their claws and testing the defenses of the others.     Gothic Intensity 0

    The Good: The issue starts off with an amazing 'missing persons' montage. A huge spread of small panels each depicting a uniquely drawn person. It's far too much to take a look through each one specifically, but that's kind of the point. This is what happens when so many die like cattle, you can try to make us care about each and every one, but the more die, the more they all start to blend together into one dead mass.
