Now...I was never aware of this...but while reading through the "Publication History" section of Superman's page it apparently says that the initial concept Jerry Siegel had for Superman back in the 1930's was that he was going to be a bald supervillain and not the Man of Steel we know and love to this day. Readers of Exiles know that after the "King Hyperion" story arc, Hyperion shaved what little was left of his hair off and ever since then he stayed bald. So...if all of the "heroic" versions of Hyperion are intended to be homages to the Superman we know then isn't it concievable that King Hyperion is a homage to the Superman who never was? Though, this could all be just one big coincidence, but when you really think about it can't you just help but wonder how in the world a writer like Chuck Austen might have possibly come up with the idea of bringing the "original" Superman to life in the form of King Hyperion?
