The Huntress continues to track down a man named Moretti who is involved in trafficking women in Naples, Italy.
My Thoughts:The second issue of this six issue mini-series continues to be as exciting as the first. Writer Paul Levitz is sticking to a very simple formula rather than going overboard. Everything is very straight forward and to the point. The story revolves around trafficking women. A very serious and unfortunate reality.
The issue follows Huntress who continues to try and track down Moretti. She ends up liberating a group of females after taking out the men working for Moretti who wasn't present during the event. Afterwards she continues to track him down and finds out where he's heading next and puts a tracking device on the boat he's on. There's still four issues left so there's still plenty of time for a lot to happen. I'm curious to see how things will pan out.
The artwork is by Marcus To who is doing outstanding work. He is capturing the Huntress in all her glory. We see her acrobatic and martial art skills come in to play as Marcus To draws them in such poetic fashion. The soft, subtle colors by Andrew Dalhouse are a perfect compliment to Marcus To's pencils. Guillem March and Tomeu Morey chip in with a very gorgeous cover.
So far this mini-series has been real fun to read. It's unfortunate it's only a mini-series rather than an on-going. It would be awesome if DC turned it into an on-going and canceled one of their rather lackluster series that aren't doing very well. I'm glad they at least decided to give Huntress a mini-series. I thought they forgot all about her. Hopefully after this is over she'll still be around somewhere. I'd hate for her to end up in comic book limbo. Enjoy Huntress while you can and pick this up!
