First off, I love the Huntress and I was pleased to see she was getting a six part mini-series introducing her into DC's New 52 universe. Writer Paul Levitz delivers a straight-forward, cut-and-dried first issue that finds Helena back in Italy to find the source of shipments of contraband that's been filtering into Gotham City. Of course she finds out there's more to it than just smuggling guns and the deeper she gets involved the more resolved the bad guys are to find her. There's a little Bat...

In my last review - Catwoman #1 - I mentioned how it was better than average, yet lacking in some ways - particularly in the art department. But this, this first issue in the Huntress limited series gives us a much better martial arts oriented anti-heroine. The story follows the Huntress to Naples where she's tracking arms and slave traffickers. There are some references to current events, which I'm sure will date the book in the future, but I really appreciated the 'reality' they brought to...

I picked up this book because I learned that Huntress was the Daughter of Earth 2 Batman and Catwoman and that sounded pretty awesome. I'm a little disheartened, therefore, that the back of the book has a note from Berganza that this may not be the case with this Huntress. But in the end it doesn't matter because this Huntress is AWESOME!She goes to Italy and goes up against some guys who are smuggling some contraband into Gotham.
