Origin

Hunter Zolomon was a survivor of tragedy. His parents had died on the same day. His mother killed by his father, his father killed by the police. Hunter became obsessed with understanding the criminal mind to stop people like his father. He started studying psychology and criminology in college so that he would be ready to join the F.B.I, which he did along with his girlfriend Ashley, whom he later married. The F.B.I would later terminate his employment so he headed to Keystone City where he got a job as a profiler, working with the police in their Department of Metahuman Hostilities. His work put him in constant contact with the Flash, Wally West and the two became best of friends.

Transformation Into Zoom

Hunter was attacked by Gorilla Grodd. Gorilla Grodd staged a massive Prison break, in the result the attack to Hunter left him paralyzed from the waist down. He asked Wally if he would time travel using his treadmill in the Flash Museum to prevent this from all happening. Wally West told him no, saying he could not take the chance of damaging the timestream. Later that day Hunter broke into the museum attempting to use the treadmill himself. He misused it causing it to blow up. The Explosion destroyed the entire museum shifted Hunter's connection to time. He now could alter the speed at which he could move in time, giving him the same effect as super speed.

Hunter thought that Wally refused to help because, unlike Barry Allen, Wally hasnt never suffered a personal tragedy. Hunter decided that if he became the new Zoom and killed Linda Park (Wally's Wife) that it would make him a better Hero. Wally had defeated zoom and saved his wife's life but Zoom's attack caused her to have a miscarriage of their twins. Using the slight "rips" in time created by the use of Zoom's powers Wally was able to force Hunter into a temporal anomaly where he would watch his father in law die over and over.

Hunter's ex-wife Ashley, replaced him as profiler and spent a lot of time attempting to communitcate with him. due to a car accident, Ashley her self was in the hospital for some time. It was around the time when Zoom awoke from his coma, out of concern for Ashley, he chose to remain in his cell, however.
