Blade was black. They could have done Luke Cage by now. Characters we know and accept as white dont need changing for any reason. As far as I know, they've never turned a character suddenly Chinese (Mandarin would have made a good Chinaman lol). You just wait and see if they give Black Panther an American accent too!

Wait, so what will Sue Storm's skin color be? Why would they only mention Johnny Storm, when it should be both Johnny and Sue? Unless they aren't biologically related in the movie universe.

@dtm1980: It worked for Nick Fury because the movies are based off the Ultimate incarnations. Also, you can do no wrong with Samuel L. Jackson. Heimdall was great too by virtue of the way he was used... 1. he's a minor character and Sif was not acknowledged as his sister though it wouldn't matter because 2. he's a "god"; race doesn't really matter when you're frigging omniscient* and 3. Idris Elba (Let the ladies say Amen. ME:"HALLELUJAH!")

If Hawkeye and the Black Widow (neither of whom had superpowers) were effectively utilised in the Avengers alongside THOR and IRON MAN then Luke Cage (with Indestructible skin) and the Black Panther (owner of the world's scarcest resource BTW) shouldn't be a problem. No need to change characters, just use the ones you already have and stop insulting people's intelligence. Lots of people don't think it could have been worse but imagine if DC had gone "let's make Hal Jordan black instead of using John Stewart". Just take a second and think about it

To be fair...the movie nick was based more on Ultimate Nick Fury, who was black and based off of Samuel L. Jackson visually.

Either make Sue black too or get rid of the "party boy" persona. If Johnny still has the comic's characterization while being black, that would reek of unfortunate implications.

The truth is the people who are casting are racist and I'm pretty sure they're white.

Not sure but what if they are approaching this from a "we are accepting all casting auditions", instead of "we are only excepting white casting auditions". I think this is more along the lines of what happened, and Jordan simply seemed to have the best audition in comparison to everyone else. I doubt that they actively tried to look for black actors ONLY. If this is the case, I have no problem with it because the intention is trying to deliver the best story first and foremost, and having race take a backseat to that, as it probably should. However we may never know if this is the case unless they address the issue.

How about all of them? How about 4 Sue's. How about not trying to recreate the F4. Let's just make a movie called "Fantastic Four" and have 4 black women named Sue Storm accept they have the different abilities of the the F4 members (Johnny,Ben,Reed). Or since Marvel loves black people SOOOO MUCH, why not do the casting regularly (all white F4) but then live next door to the Black Avengers and Black Thor, and Black Iron Man are always making alot of noise because they are always drunk of mead and Iron Man walks around in that heavy ass suit that makes alot of noise when he moves and they piss of the Thing and he always has to go knock on their door and yell at them and tell them to stop having loud parties.

This really doesn't bother me, it might just be because I grew up seeing my ancestors portrayed by really tan Italians with not one person saying a bad word about it. Hell we still got white people dressing up in silly head dresses and talking in broken English.
