Origin
Johnny Storm grew up in Glenville, New York. His mother died in a car accident when he was young. Despite his mother’s death in a car accident, Johnny loved cars and quickly became a mechanic at a young age. When he was young he rescued two of his friends from a burning building. Soon after Johnny was almost chosen to become the next Ghost Rider but was able to escape.
When Mr. Fantastic planned a flight to space, Johnny followed his sister and joined Richards’ flight crew. After they were hit by the cosmic radiation storm and crash landed on Earth, Johnny became engulfed by fire. He soon called himself the Human Torch in honor of the World War II hero. He joins the Fantastic Four and goes on several adventures with them.
Even though Johnny was a member of the Fantastic Four, he was still a teenager attending Glenville High School. He tries to conceal his identity from the high school students and the local people, but when their identities went public, it was impossible to hide it. Johnny would later meet Spider-Man who broke into the Baxter Building trying to impress them hoping to join the Fantastic Four. After the misunderstanding, Spider-Man and Johnny become good friends with each other. Spider-Man would eventually reveal his identity to Johnny.
After Johnny graduated from high school, he enrolled into Metro College where he meets Wyatt Wingfoot. Johnny would later meet a young Inhuman Crystal, and the Fantastic Four would help her overthrow prince Maximus. Johnny fell in love with her but she would later marry Quicksilver and give birth to a child. Johnny would soon drop out of Metro College but would remain friends with Wyatt as he would assist the Fantastic Four on various adventures.
After the whole ordeal with Onslaught was over and Franklin Richards created a counter-earth, Roma declared that Franklin was too powerful to be ignored and wants to send a Technet to the Captain Britain Corps to take him away. Johnny was able to convince Roma that Reed and Invisible Woman will be able to raise him so he does not become a danger. Later when the Fantastic Four had to battle an enemy in The Negative Zone, Johnny stayed behind to recruit a temporary Fantastic Four. The team consisted of [[Ant Man:char:7254]], Namorita, and the She-Hulk. Later Johnny made a deal with Doctor Doom to help his pregnant sister Sue Storm because the pregnancy was threatening her life.
Johnny tries to pursue an acting career. When he was casted for a movie he showed up but they told him he was not ready for the role. Johnny would later become a firefighter with a former classmate, but when the classmate left town because of personal problems, Johnny quit his job. Eventually Sue would became impatient with her brother doing nothing with his life. She forces him to take a job as a chief financial.
After Reed tried to claim Latveria for the Fantastic Four, the United States government did not approve of this and turned on the Fantastic Four. Ben would be killed in this which leads to the break up of the Fantastic Four. Johnny pursued one of his passions becoming a mechanic fixing cars. During the break up the reputation of the Fantastic Four went down the drain. Johnny called Spider-Man to ask how he deals with it and Spider-Man would try to cheer Johnny up.
Later on an alien named Zius would come to Earth in order to find the one person in the galaxy who could neutralize the powers of a special invisibility machine used to cloak planets from the world devourer, Galactus. They came in search of Sue Richards, but with Reed's quick thinking he developed a machine which would switch powers with any of his teammates. He used the machine on Sue and thus had her and Johnny switch abilities. Sue able to generate fire and Johnny able to turn invisible and shape force-fields. The ruse worked and Zius left Earth believing that Sue would no longer pose a threat.
Only minutes afterward Galactus came to Earth to seek out a new herald. The intended target was meant to be Sue Storm due to her powerful invisibility powers, however since her powers were switched with Johnny's, Galactus took him instead. Thus started the adventure of Johnny Storm as a herald of Galactus. When he realized what had happened he stalled for as long as he could, in order to stop Galactus from feeding on any planets. He tried to convince the natives of what was to come, but because he was a herald they didn't want anything to with him. He even got attacked by an alien, who was easily defeated by Johnny's newfound powers, as well as the awesome powers of the Power Cosmic. Meanwhile on Earth, the FF, were readying themselves to save Johnny. Enlisting the help of Quasar they went off in search of Galactus and Johnny.
Johnny in his desperation to save any planets, tried to convince Galactus to stop, but Galactus was hungering and he needed to be fed. Johnny, in one last effort recounted Galactus' tale back to the man in the hat, which bought enough time for Quasar and the Fantastic Four to appear. There he and Reed concocted a plan, which ended up in Galactus turning into his form from before the old universe died. He turned into Galan. They took him to Earth, where they tried to teach Galan the value of life. Shortly afterward, Reed tried to switch powers between Sue and Johnny, but a mishap happened and they were forced to chase after their powers in different parts of New York. Eventually the Fantastic Four gained their original powers back.
During the Civil War, Johnny was attacked and beaten badly at a night club. He was hospitalized for awhile and when he finally awoke, everything was wrong. Reed and Sue were having marital problems, and the Thing left for France. Eventually Johnny and Sue joined Captain America’s rebel group to fight against the registration act. After the Civil War had ended, Sue and Reed are taking a break from the Fantastic Four. They asked Johnny and Ben to keep working as the Fantastic Four along with Storm and Black Panther.
