After being bombarded with a massive dose of gamma radiation while saving a young man's life during an experimental bomb testing, Dr. Robert Bruce Banner was transformed into the Incredible Hulk: a green behemoth who is the living personification of rage and pure physical strength.
Amazing story...but I especially loved how he could actually be harmed on the planet and not be so invulnerable as he is on Earth practically. That was the big appeal to me.
never got a chance to read the books, but i watch the movie and it was honestly one of my favorite portrayals of the Hulk ever. brooding yet not a simpleton. and the animation is pretty good too
I was a huge fan of the John Byrne Hulk run. Unfortunately I missed out on most of the Peter David run (which I really should track down). I did get Planet Hulk and I really like it. I think what worked was that this was such a unique concept for the Hulk combined with Pak's epic style of writing. The animated DVD wasn't bad at all, much better than some of the other Marvel animated features.
One of the stories I recommend to my friends who don't read many or any comics. In fact, I need to read it again. The animated movie isn't that bad either.
