Hulk gets owned here pretty bad, I'm just wondering which version of Hulk this is.

I don't believe it's WWH/WBH because of the way Hulk talks here. He seems to be the classic savage Hulk. I'm also going off of his ongoing series as well. We haven't seen the WWH/WBH persona much or at all.

I believe if this was WWH, he would have punched this sun dude with a gamma energized punch and taken that eye blast easily.

If I had to guess, most likely Waid's Hulk (which I don't even consider to be Savage Hulk, who could take punishment like that and keep coming. Hell, I bet even Joe Fixit could have done better.), which I consider to be a different incarnation altogether when compared to the other incarnations/personas of the Hulk.

Then again, he might be playing possum. Luring Sun God into a false sense of security/triumph, and then... SMASH!!!

We'll have to see in the next issue.

Probably Waid Hulk. Maybe even Savage.

I'm just gonna wait for Superman's fanboys to use this as a definitive argument that Superman can beat Hulk.

I also LOVED this issue and the fights in it. The Iron Man vs Boundless fight was one of my favorites, tied with Black Panther vs The Rider's.

I also know Batman fanboys are going to use that for their argument against Black Panther,as well.

Anyway, great issue. I loved the fights in it.

It's just a bit PIS that BP's knife was shattered, since it should (by nature) cut through that blade.

I thought it was just assumed every "mindless", angry, incarnation of Hulk is Savage Hulk unless stated differently or seemingly obviously it isn't i.e.: joe fixit.

It's Waids Hulk which is an undefined version it's somewhere between mindless and savage. Sometimes he talks and sometimes he doesn't, though mostly he doesn't.

Even writers at Marvel think Hulk can't beat a Superman knock off. Heh the irony is quite prevalent in this pseudo Avengers vs Justice League fight.

Sun God had the advantage for most of the fight and then one shotted him with an energy blast which turned Hulk back into Banner. Seems like he got owned to me.

I haven't read the issue but I think Slim captures all the images of the Hulk fight. As for Hulk's track record, beating Hyperion is fair enough but Gladiator does have much better feats in overall stats than Hulk so Hulk shouldn't have beaten Gladiator as easily as he did. Plus radiation + Gladiator grabbing onto Hulk gave Hulk the chance of winning. Plot circumstances in other words.

Well sometimes he need to lose. Otherwise Marvel loses credibility, Hulk already defeated Gladiator, Hyperion etc. Important point is, Hulk tagged Sun God very-well....

I think that was regular Savage Hulk. Not at high level anger.

Though story is not finished yet, there may be another round with the Sun God.

First off I don't mind if Hulk get's beat, it's just the way they did it and it was lame as hell. Sun god is a marvel's version of Superman right? Well the real Superman did that same thing to the Hulk and he with stood it and did not turn back to Banner, so Hulk should have done the same against Sun god. This is poor writing for Hulk using him as a plot device. That whole Hulk vs Sun god scene was rip off the original JLA vs Avengers when Thor fought Superman. What's sad about comics these days is there's no caption story telling yellow box to explain what really happen? So does this make Sun god more powerful than Superman?????

To the Superman fans out there don't answer that question, I'm being sarcastic.

It seems Sun God's HV is somehow amped, first he one shotted Reed & Beast at the same time, then he beat Hulk with it. It was a weird choice though, since Hulk resisted HV of Gladiator and Hyperion before.

Marvel or Waid, not sure which, are being really stupid here. Don't they realise that by having a "sun god" pulp the Hulk so easily they are going to play into the hands of all Superman fans who say he wipes the floor with Hulk....

..whats been happening to Hulk recently in Marvel world reminds me a bit of the humiliation Marvel gave Thor in the 90s, early 00s...

@raynorj: I don't know. You have to admit, though, it's pretty lazy damn writing considering Savage Hulk in the past could tank powerful blasts from the likes of Hyperion, Gladiator, Silver Surfer, Sentry, etc. and keep on fighting.

Then again, who knows, Hulk/Banner might be faking it/playing possum. Next issue, if there's a round 2, Sun God might get smashed into paste or killed by the Hulk for all we know. That's when you'll hear a lot of Superman fanboys crying foul and cussing.

Besides, every major powerhouse like Hulk, Thor, Superman, Wonder Woman, etc. has suffered from bad writing and had some pretty bad loses over the years. So, yeah, whatever.

@greenscar1990 It is what it is, the character Hulk fought is new and made up so he can be as powerful as Hickman wants him to be so it's just possible that he is more powerful than the Hulk. It is weird that he got beat by heat vision seeing as it didn't even leave any visible damage on him just KO'd him. But meh who cares honestly, getting beat by a powerful opponent like that isn't nowhere near as humiliating as Hulk losing to Abomination in Waids run.

@hulk465: Way to go misinterpreting my intentions. In case you didn't see, I was not antagonising your view on the Hulk vs Sun God/Superman issue in the slightest. I was pointing out that your comment was practically asking for trouble. Your attitude in your reply also confirmed that you're not taking the best stance to those pointing out what your comment might bring about. You are allowed to write anything you want but you also need to be aware of the consequences if someone replies to your comment emphatically saying Superman can beat Hilk which would start another Superman vs Hulk flame war.

That comment can start a FLAME WAR also, so stop being a hypocrite or what is it that the rules apply to me and NOT to you? A sensitive Hulk fan could have gave birth to a child called DRAMA with that comment and you were asking for trouble. @lvenger And you are doing a fine job of not starting a flame war yourself... @hulk465 Let's just knock it off, nothing good ever comes from these situations anyway. Whether Hulk or Superman knock off won that fight, it wouldn't have mattered in the end to any fanboy of the 2 characters out there. It wouldn't change their already made opinions in the slightest.

@raynorj: I stopped the conversation and didn't reply to him to end the topic at hand. You didn't need to try and call me out again when I was trying to prevent a flame war in the first place. I was specifically advising against arguments of this kind since I had a feeling this issue would generate tense feelings regardless of who won the fight.

I can't understand the rage. It's the same writer who had Hulk shrug off an attack from Thanks and had hulk survive without getting KOed despite having a weight of a star trusted upon him.

Hickman has shown Hulk as pretty powerful just because he lost to his interpretation of Superman shouldn't take away much specially considering the story intended to hype up the new powers Dr. Strange got after having sold his soul.

@lvenger You are a very two-faced person aren't you? What do you think your first post here was doing?

@killemall And yet now he had him KO'd by heat vision, so yea i can understand why people would get upset over that. And i never understood the whole notion "Character A got new powers so character B to Z now have to job because of it". Showing off one characters new and shiny powers should never effect and be the reason of the outcome of your other fight, i know this is common place but is a typical example of bad writing. Always was always will be.

With all that said i really never cared for this fight i said it before the issue came out and i still feel the same way. The only thing that i will admit irks me is getting KO'd by the heat vision when it didn't even leave any visible damage on him and he has tanked the same attacks before.

@raynorj: while I totally understand your view and all but see if from Jonathan Hickman point of view. Honestly he couldn't care less about consistency in a characters power level, unlike us long time Hulk fan who do.

He is looking at plot, he wants to show with the new found dark powers Dr. Strange is an user badass.

Would Dr. Strange defeating a group of heroes the rest of I'll um anti were holding against showcase the said plot power beyond Strange defeating character that were easily defeating the illuminati. It's obvious the second one would make people go my god Dr. Strange is scary powerful now.

That's pretty much what he wanted to show and he did.

The rest I doubt Hickman really cares from his point of view he has certainly given Hulk enough feat when need be.
