    Hulk

Character » Hulk appears in 7769 issues.

After being bombarded with a massive dose of gamma radiation while saving a young man's life during an experimental bomb testing, Dr. Robert Bruce Banner was transformed into the Incredible Hulk: a green behemoth who is the living personification of rage and pure physical strength.

    Doc green's ulterior motives?

I've been thinking lately and gerry duggans has clearly been teasing that hulk isn't just trying to get rid of gamma weapons, he has other reasons. I was wondering what everyone else thought and what theories you could come up with.

I personally have two theories (both are probably dead wrong).

    1) he wants to use the other hulks to amp himself. Doc green strikes me as a cocky person, thinking himself to the most powerful person on the planet. I wouldn't be surprised if his real reason was to make himself more powerful, duggan has said that doc green is going to be more powerful than he used to be, maybe this is the reason why? He also doesn't seem like the sought of person who'd promote world peace as he seems to be doing.

    2) it's something to do with banner (In a bad way). Doc green has already expressed his hatred of Bruce, duggan has also said that we won't be seeing him very often, could it be that doc green is trying to find a way to cure himself of banner as opposed to the other way round? I wouldn't be surprised.

Anyway, these are just my theories, do you guys have any?

@avenging_x_bolt: he's an intelligent version of hulk (he's nothing like the professor hulk by the way). In truth he reminds me of thanos.

He's basically trying to get rid of gamma weapons (those weapons being people like red hulk, skaar, a-bomb, she hulk etc) but the writer (gerry duggan) has teased that hulk has other reasons for doing what he's doing. If you check the hulk 2014 thread there's a few interviews with duggan that help describe doc green.

@medulaoblaganda: not neccasary evil but the way he acts reminds me of thanos. As it stands though he's defintely not evil though he seems to be ready to kill if it comes down to it. But no, as it stands he's by no means evil.

@medulaoblaganda: so long as he doesn't eat someone. The writer who's doing it is notorious for making gruesome scenes, i just hope he doesn't make hulk do something extremely evil. Other than that I'm looking forward to him.

Doc Green is the antagonist. He comes off as arrogant and somewhat selfish in my opinion. I'm also not a fan of getting rid of the other Hulks, they all are interesting characters.

@lukehero: YES! That would be awesome. I actually seriously think he's doing it to amp himself but I don't know why.

Yeah but it seems like he's not going to last long which is sad news. Seems like Banner returns in the #9 issue.

@bonifidehustla: he's going to last for a while, don't worry about that. Far past issue 9.

After reading Hulk 6 it has me wondering if he will go after the Leader, Rhino (he's gamma powered), the Gamma Corps ( Prodigy, Mess, Gideon, Griffin and Gray)? Still there are other Gamma powered guys out there....next up Red Hulk.

I think Red Hulk is going to interfere with the Skaar fight. I'm pretty sure Doc Green knows Red Hulk is coming he is too smart to not know.

Hulk is easily my favorite, but I'll be cheering for Skaar in this next issue. Or Hulk beats him bloody (his own son!) before realizing that you can't cure Skaar.

@teh_pwnerer: hulk will almost certainly beat skaar, duggan wouldnt have hulk lose this early in his run.

Oh definitely. My hopes are in no way pertaining to rational thought. The only way Skaar can get away, is if Rulk intervenes, but with the nature of Skaar, I don't see him retreating or leaving anyways. Should be an epic battle though, I've always thought Skaar was the second strongest Hulk, or was written that way in that first issue at least (downplayed later)
