The explosion on planet Sakaar was neccessary for the events of World War Hulk to take place, but WHAT was the point of having Galactus consuming the planet and kill the last of its inhabitants?? I was hoping that the Hulk would some day return to Sakaar or that someone would help restore peace and harmony to it as a compensation for Hulk losing Caiera and all the tragedy that the people of Sakaar suffered, instead I feel that the whole Planet Hulk saga (my favorite Marvel story) was just completely pointless as their struggle to overthrow the Red King and restore peace to the planet was all in vain and no one survived to tell the epic story of the Green Scar who went from slave to gladiator to freedom fighter to king. Those epic prophecies about the Sakaarson and the Worldbreaker, all gone. For what? Because Galactus was hungry. What a waste of further story potential :(

The planet was already pretty wrecked and their time there was done, they weren't going back.
