Granted, the 2008 one was better. Norton was a far better Banner than Bana. But I thought that the 2003 one was okay, maybe a 6/10. Am I the only person who feels this way?
Character » Hulk appears in 4563 issues.
I enjoyed the first few mins...does that count?
Hated it. I was so bored when I saw it.
It did have some beautiful scenes in it. The moment he started jumping around the desert, I thought it had really picked up. Still, Ang Lee didn't fully understand the power of Hulk and centered too much on the son/father relationship instead of general smashing of things, explosions and stuff. I didn't see sparks or even a hint of a real relationship between Bruce and Betty. In fact, I was annoyed by her pity for the monster. Also, Hulk smash.
As far as acting, special effects, and plot go, it wasn't a bad film. But the pseudo-comic style they tried to do it in failed miserably. the camera work itself was what ruined it for me. I liked Bana, not as much as Norton, but he was good.
I like both of the 2k Hulk movies, but for different reasons.
The 2003 version, to me, just really captures the 'classic Hulk' feel that the Incredible Hulk never does, and by classical i mean; big green guy smashes dummy US military (granted they couldnt know how resilient he is). And the desert scene where he is running just captures his actual level of power better than Incredible where he just vanishes or has to contend with someone even stronger.
Incredible Hulk however captures the Hulk of today better, where you basically take him and add roaring monster/high tier Marvel character of the month and let the two go nuts on each other.
Kinda. But mostly because i watched it with my niece and she was really excited about it, so I was excited.
I also liked Noltes big rant near the end of the film, and thought that Sam Elliot played a far better Thunderbolt.
But mutant dogs and whatever that thing was Bruces dad turned into, I just...
Anyways I thought the Hulk animated Vs movies and Planet Hulk beat the purple shorts off either live action one.
It was horrible. Hulk looked silly, the cuts were a complete failure and it was just plain boring. The 2008 one was waaaaaaay better.
The 2003 Hulk was quite enjoyable. They toned down him down in The Incredible Hulk but it was still an excellent movie.
I actually liked 2003 movie better. Granted it had it's weak spots. I think Bana was a better Banner then Norton. More importantly, I think the 2003 captured the pure power of the Hulk. Basically it showed how he grew stronger as he grew angrier. I also liked 2003 version of Betty better. Liv Tyler was awful. Romantically she's fine, but when it comes to portraying Betty's intellect she's sorely lacking." I like both of the 2k Hulk movies, but for different reasons.
