    I know, the transformation of Banner into the Hulk is the core of the whole comic book character. But how about if Hulk had been born as the Hulk? A beefy, huge man who lives somewhere in the mountains and gets angry and turns green if you irritate him. (Thus, the problem with the inexplicable increase in mass and size would be eliminated.) Here two pictures of how it could look like:

    IIRC the extra mass comes from another dimension.

    @guttridgeb: Yes, I know the various explanations. But these are only temporary solutions. If we are honest, there is no comprehensible explanation.

    @zardu: Fair enough :)

    Personally I think its a horrible idea (no offence) seeing as the relationship between Bruce and Hulk is one of the reasons for Hulk being my favourite.

    @guttridgeb: Yes, you´re right. It was just a question, a fleeting thought. However, I want to know what people think about it.

    whats so awesome about the hulk is his dynamic relationship with banner. Banner is the center of everything. Grey hulk, prof hulk, Gravage hulk, WWH and etc are all part of banner personality. Having that removed would reduce the hulk to a mere cavemen, he'd be no different from the wendigo or bigfoot. just another strong man living in the woods/mountains. In fact i'd go as far to say that REMOVING banner would mean that hulk would no longer exist, it wouldn't make him unique anymore, so yeah, i stand strongly that a Natural hulk really translates to 'Just a strong guy'.

    Yep.

    Oh i thought this might have been about a non-gamma enhanced hulk, like how they have those drug free bodybuilding competitions where the contestants are really small compared to the steroid guys. I was imagining a conversation about a little angry guy with maybe some body paint.

    I see your point, but why should anyone read a comic book about "A beefy, huge man who lives somewhere in the mountains and gets angry and turns green if you irritate him"? Who would irritate him anyway in the mountains? The deers? He'd be nature's protector, so illegal lumberjacks would feel his wrath? Nah... Hulk is one of my favourite heroes. Have you ever read the "Crossroads"? I think if you read them, you'll find the true essence of the Hulk and you will abolish this idea on your own. Take care, man.

    What do you think?

    He looks like Carl from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. I could see why Marvel would make the hulk look like that. Carl is a beast.

    @phaedrusgr: He does not have to live in the mountains. That was just an example, if he were already green. He could live anywhere. The secret of his strength might have been exposed. And now he is being hunted. Banner can be irritated in different ways. Why should the natural Hulk not be irritated in this ways?

    Actually, it is not an idea that I like. I was just a thought and I wanted to know what others think.

    @bogey:

    Carl is fat.

    The green guy is muscular.

    I think, the only similarity is the mustache :-)

    Unfortunately. I don´t know Carl. But if he is a beast, then it fits.

    @phaedrusgr: I have not understand your comment as a judgement. I just wanted to clarify that I also do not like the idea.

    Anyway, thanks for your statement.
