The people of K'ai were all green skinned people but were similar to humans in biology other than that, and they accepted Hulk. Jarella and Bruce/Hulk fell in love with each other and Jarella eventually returned to Earth with the Hulk. During a bank robbery Hulk has to fight Crypto-man and during the battle Jarella sacrificed her life to save a boy from falling rubble. Hulk then quickly dispatches Crypto-man and takes Jarella to Gamma Base asking that they heal her, she dies on the Hospital bed. Hulk then tears up New York trying to attract Dr. Strange who he believes can revive Jarella. He can't and Hulk returns Jarella to K'ai for her burial. Although Jarella is dead she frequently appears in Bruce and the Hulk's dreams and in their mind. |

Rick Jones First meeting: Incredible Hulk, The Vol. I #1.00 Sidekick to the Hulk and Captain America, Rick Jones was made an honorary member of the Avengers. Aside from his time bonded with Captain Mar-Vell, Rick Jones does not possess any super powers. He was trained to fight by Captain America and has developed a strong courageous spirit. Rick is the reason the the Hulk came to be. On a dare, Rick drove out to a bomb testing ground. It happened to be the gamma bomb created by Dr. Bruce Banner that was being tested that day. As it explodes Dr. Bruce Banner pushes Rick into a protective trench, saving his life but absorbing the gamma rays that first transforms him into the Hulk. He felt guilty for what had happened and decided to stay with Dr. Banner and the HULK. He even for some time gained mental control over the HULK. |
