    Too Many Hulks

    The Story:
Domino (by accident) discovers the identity of the Red Hulk. Doc Samson gives the Red Hulk a list of names (Elektra, Punisher, Deadpool, Dynamo, Thundra) to hire to help track down Domino. When they find Domino, they run into the rest of the X-Force and an all out battles unravels. During the fight the mysterious Red She-Hulk appears for the first time.

    My Thoughts:
Series writer Jeph Loeb brings the Hulk-Smashing once again. While Loeb is one of my favorite writers, he doesn't exactly shine on this series. It's not a good representation of his full potential in my opinion. So far I haven't been blown away by anything that's happened. While there have been some good moments, I feel like the plot has lacked any real depth. So far we've been teased a few times into thinking we were about to find out who the Red Hulk is. Now with the edition of yet another Hulk (Red She-Hulk), the direction this series is going is beyond me. One thing I didn't like about this book was that there was no Bruce Banner in it at all. Instead the center of attention switched to the Red Hulk.

What this book does bring is tons of action if you couldn't figure that out from the title by now. Yes the Red Hulk fights the X-Force. I liked seeing Elektra as well, I just wish her part could have been a little bigger.

The last issue focusing on Doc Samson was interesting while at the same time a little disturbing. He clearly has issues and with him being manipulated by MODOK, things could get interesting in the following issues.

The art for the first four issues is by Ian Churchill. I was disappointed to find out that Ed McGuinness wasn't on this volume, however, Churchill stepped in and did a great job. He has a very likable style that worked great for this series. For the fifth and final issues of this book, the art is drawn by Whilce Portacio who is a very talented artist and one of my favorites. All the variant covers by Ed McGuinness were amazing as usual.

This book is nothing spectacular to be honest. If you want to read a comic with a lot of action then by all means read this. If you're looking for a well written story then stay away from this. Odds are this will only appeal to major Hulk fans.

    Rating: 3/5
