"The Space Between" your bookshelf is filled
The third and most impressive House of Mystery so far. This book is loaded with ALL-Stars, writers and artist alike.
Pros: This book is stacked with Talent. The framing narrative is great and we learn a lot more about the House of Mystery. The special number 13 issue was a nice treat for Vertigo fans. This is the second issue to be issued a Variant cover. Neal Adams knocks that cover out of the park. Issue 13 welcomes the talents of Bill Willingham, Chris Roberson, Neal Adams, Serio Aragones and the consistently wonderful standard House of Mystery creative team.
Cons: Issue number 13 seems almost out of place since it falls between part 2 and 3 of the story arc of "The Space Between". Its a fun issue, but it slows down the read of the arc, giving us a break which we don't need at that point.
Verdict: This is a series in which it is good for people new to comics. The short stories give us exposure to talents that may take years for new readers to discover if it was not for a series like this. This book alone has many beloved talents in Neal Adams, Bill Willingham, Sergio Aragones and Gilbert Hernandez. It is not a good jump on point, but it is the best of the three books thus far.
