Plot Summary
A new storyline begins here, but the solicitation text for this issue has been stolen, and the following note left in its place: "Dear Constance, I've been having bad dreams. I am in a House, and there is a man summoning me...come quickly." The meaning of the note is unknown. The only certainty is that this issue's short story features the eerie art of Richard Corben (HELLBLAZER).

The fine art of creating an amazing cliffhanger that leaves the reader lusting for more is an essential in comic book writing, and House of Mystery is no stranger to perfecting said art. After last month's "Final Page Dramatic Reveal of the Decade" you know this series is truly headed for great things. I mean to be honest, the series has always been amazing right from the first issue onwards but about midway through it has taken a new route and I have to say I am really loving this route. The Conception. I want more!
This brings up one thing I hate about getting caught up with an ongoing series, I have to wait a month to get the next issue! In any case though, this was a fabulous issue, like all it's predecessors a story was told by characters in the series and this "story within a story" was one of my favorites. However, the best parts were the protagonists of House of Mystery and their current situations. Harry Bailey seems to truly becoming one with the House, don't know how I feel about that but it is an interesting development, reminds me of that one crew member on The Flying Dutchman in Pirates of the Caribbean, the guy who is a part of the ship. However the three main things that have me really excited for the next issue are as follows (you know if there's three it's an action-packed issue).
Administrator Ceorel (villain depicted on cover) has finally proven just how badass he is and I can't wait to see his team-up with a personal favorite character of mine who was dramatically revealed last issue. The Poet was called by name by some mysterious "being" and I'm hoping this means we'll finally get more insight into his character like we have with all the other main protagonists.
And finally the last page of the issue...the murder of probably the most friendly character in the story...but an unrevealed murderer...gah, this series is absolutely awesome...I want #17!!!
Everyone should read this, it's one of my favorite comics currently on the shelves. Great storytelling.
