Huge Event - Everlasting Effects 0

Following the events that took place in Avengers: Disassembled, the House Of M picks up with the Scarlet Witch remembering what she did to the Avengers as Charles Xavier tries to help contain her. The Avengers meet to decide the fate of her as she is becoming more and more unstable. Quicksilver, who is aware of this runs back to Genosha to inform his father Magneto. Just About to Be Undone 0

It's interesting to be reading House of M now because it's about to be undone in the current comics what with Scarlett Witch coming back and restoring mutant powers.  That said, this series set forth the basis of the Marvel world for the next five years and it was a great volume for doing so.    This trade paperback only collects the main story.  If you want to see how the world was DURING the House of M, you'll have to collect the other trades.  (Those are listed of the main page if you click o...

Age of Apocalypse 2: Magneto Boogaloo 0

This is better than The Ultimates, but that is rather faint praise, I admit. Having left the Marvel Universe for a time shortly before this era (just a little before Disassembled and this and all the after-effects that dominated the 2000s), I missed this the first time around. Clearly this was a major time of change for the Marvel Universe, and while I can't comment too much about that (other than the ubiquitous restarts of the late '90s and early '00s was the main reason I left), this fast-pace...

M-azing, But Not as Timeless as It Should Have Been 3

As a kid, this was the first of the Marvel events that I had ever been exposed to, as my cousin let me read it when over at his house one afternoon. And, while I didn't understand it in its entirety at the time, I did find myself enjoying it. Now, years later, I see why I enjoyed it, but also the issues that are ingrained in the story itself. Now, I'm not a big fan of parallel universes; the Age of Apocalypse story arch was really irritating and obnoxious to me, the What If series annoys me, and...

The three most important words in Marvel are spoken 0

After the Scarlet Witch suffered a nervous breakdown due to the side effects of her reality-altering powers. Her father Magneto brought her to Professor Xavier for help. Xavier and Dr. Strange attempted to cure her but both have failed. Now Xavier must figure out what to do with her, because she can instantly wipe out all life across the planet or even further beyond. He calls in the X-Men and the New Avengers to decide her fate. -summaryMarvel were on a role between the years of 2004 - 2009 rev...
