was made in homage to this one:

yet unlike the examples on the page they look nothing alike so I am confused

well I read that it was made as an homage cover by P. Russell (who made both covers) as they are both the 50th issue of the intertwined series'

That's what I kinda figured! Normally it'll say in the initialls if it's a homage and say it's paying tribute to whoever the original artis was that drew it!
