thanks for revising my knowledge of hob goblin IN 3 MINUTES
Hobgoblin (Kingsley)
Character » Hobgoblin (Kingsley) appears in 519 issues.
Roderick Kingsley became a worthy heir of the Goblin legacy, creating his own identity, of the Hobgoblin, rather than being just another Green Goblin clone.
3-Minute Expert: Who Is Hobgoblin?
... and I have not read Amazing Spider-Man #648... (the two comic book stores I go to were sold out! <_>)
So I'm really missing out on it because I haven't bought this week's issue either!
Thanks for the 3ME, there was a lot I didn't know... and as always Kudos to Joey for the awesome editing (assuming it was Joey :P)
I never liked the idea of Kingsley as the actual Hobgoblin. Ned Leeds seemed to fit more perfectly.
Anyway, Hobgoblin having wings and fiery swords is awful. His thing is not about sorcery but technology.
Great one G-Man. I'm big on all the Goblins. I always loved the color deco on Hobgoblin. Some great classic bronze style art featured in this one too. Also great choice because the Hobgoblin history is infamously tough to get straight. It's sort of convoluted, all those identities (some being false), so that's for clearing it up for me.
Would you consider a Mysterio 3-Minute? I know you share my love of the fishbowl. =]
Interesting. I was never a fan of Hobgoblin and didn't care about reading about his bio so thanks for this FOUR-minute video.
Roderick Kingsley as the Hobgoblin is one of, if not my absolute favorite villain of all time. Excellent video.
"I never liked the idea of Kingsley as the actual Hobgoblin. Ned Leeds seemed to fit more perfectly. Anyway, Hobgoblin having wings and fiery swords is awful. His thing is not about sorcery but technology."
I always thought that, too. It was big stuff back in the day concerning Hobgoblin's identity.
Hobgoblin rules. Nice one, G-Man!
I may be wrong, but I think one of the points of the Hobgoblin was to use the idea for his identity that Ditko wanted for the Green Goblin, someone not connected to Peter Parker at all. Just a random stranger, because usually thats who it would be. Not every enemy would be connected to Peter's life like Osborn or Connors.
" I never liked the idea of Kingsley as the actual Hobgoblin. Ned Leeds seemed to fit more perfectly. Anyway, Hobgoblin having wings and fiery swords is awful. His thing is not about sorcery but technology. "It's all tech. It's not mystical at all.
Hmmm, no mention of Macendales deal with N'astirh and his transformation (Spectacular Spider-Man 147), or how it created Demogoblin (Web of Spider-man 86)? Tsk, tsk.
Just nitpicking. Seriously though, nice video
The Hobgoblin was such a weak concept. Just filler until Norman was brought back. Bringing him back today serves no purpose at all except to fill in until Norman is busted out of jail.
However, the death of Ned Leeds' character was very downplayed in the video. That was huge at the time. Spider-man vs. Wolverine was a great stand alone.
" I don't intend to come off like a jerk, but your pronunciation of 'The' ('Dah') is incredibly distracting to me. "
Its his accent, not really much he can do about it.
I always loved the goblin characters. Especially Hobgoblin was intriguing. I'm interested to see where this new appearance of Hobbie wil go.
Awesome 3ME. I only seem to remember the hobgoblin in the spiderman animated series.
sucked that we never got to see him in spectacular spiderman tv series and i except he would've made an appearance if the show had continued with a 3rd season. but saying that, i think the last scene showing osborn getting off a plane and wearing a caribbean shirt was a throwback to roberick kingsley.
That was a good one. There was a one shot were Spidey and Falcon found a goblin hide out. And it just ended there. I wonder if they will come back around to it.
" Yeah, but what about Demogoblin? "@suicidejocky said:

Maybe it should be called "3 Minute (or however long it takes to fully encapsulate the history of charachters, some of which have over 25 years of comicbook history) Expert"
Nah, your title has a better ring to it.
I wasn't a fan of Demogoblin and always thought Macendale was a chump
And Donovan wasn't?
I remember the original Hobgoblin run and the mystery behind his identity but I didn't keep up with all of the turns and turns. Reads like there were some creative differences and unnecessary red herrings just to string the readers along.
At least it was never has bad as bring the Green Goblin and Gwen Stacey back from the dead with one of the most ridiculous retcons ever.
That was super informative. I never would have figured that out on my own . . . at least not in three minutes. :) Thanks again, Tony.
