Hipotank, along with the rest of the NAILs left Cybertron to escape the war. When Cybertron was "reborn" a signal was sent out and the NAILs returned. They were attacked as his ship tried to land causing Hipotank to go into a rage. He went to confront Bumblebee and Metalhawk but was calmed down after Metalhawk criticized the Autobots actions.
Hipotank was also hanging out Tappet and Zetca when Metalhawk introduced Sky-Byte and he got to listen to Zetca explain recent events to the new arrival. Hipotank was among a Cybertronian crowd recruited by Starscream to pressure Prowl into revealing one of his secret discoveries below ground on Cybertron. When they went underground, they witnessed Metrotitan who declared that Starscream was destined to unite their whole race. In Transformers: Robots in Disguise Annual he and the other are shown celebrating with Starscream.
