    dmstarz's 250 favourite marvel comic covers no61

A few years back, Brian Cronin of Comic Book Resources, compiled a list of his 15 'Creepiest' Comic Book Covers on his 'Judging Books by their Covers' blog on that particular website. Alongside about half the covers for this run of Heroes for Hire he included this cover. Now, I get that some people might have a problem with the notorious HFH 13 (with its allegations of hentai porn), however I think it was unfair to castigate this cover. The four heroes here are, of course, presented in a very sexy light, but I don't think it's an exploitative image at all. They are strong and in control, each with very distinctive looks and, in the comic book world of unremitting double D wonders, each with their own body shape. Billy Tucci, who drew this, is to be applauded for that, at the very least. So HFH didn't become Marvel's Birds of Prey but it had its moments and I think the girls here look absolutely splendid.
