Preview of new Herc series

#1 Posted by Daybots (15 posts) - - Show Bio

I am pretty excited they are going in a new direction with Hercules. They haven't done much with him, he's more than just a strong guy (has one of the best personalities in the Marvel Universe I think), but he has always just been lacking. Anyways new series looks great and Herc #3 will cross over with Fear Itself event.  I hope everyone is in agreement.

Awesome. I was hoping that Hercules would have an arsenal of ancient weapons and it looks pretty badass....though the shield should be the Aegis...but anyway.

Still not enthused about Hercules being de-powered, but his use of ancient weapons of myth does look intriguing.

I don't need him to be all-powerful, I just want him at his normal, classic, incalcuable strength-level.  That's all I'm asking for.

@danvidar:

Thanks for the info!

Hopefully DC gets it right and uses their version of Hercules as a hero again.

The last time DC did a decent job with Hercules was in the 70's in an ongoing called "Hercules Unbound."

In that series Hercules looked like this:

@powerherc: PowerHerc, I heard about theory that Marvel wants to use Herc as little as possible, because people would mistake him with Disney version of Hercules lol. What do you think about this?

I really wish they'd do something with Herc

I've considered the possibility of Disney suppressing the Marvel version of Hercules because they have an interest in making their own original version the most widely recognized character associated with the name Hercules. I don't know if this is the case, I hope it's not, but it sure seems like that's what is happening.
