Anyone know? Have looked around, but can't really find anything other then he was beyond Skyfather level, and had multiuniversal power. Any specific powers he got or feats?

    @Wolfrazer:

These are some examples/feats of Hercules while possessing his sky-father powers:

    • When his power, as God of Gods, was beyond sky-father level Hercules was able to teleport, fly and emit energy blasts from his hands and eyes.
    • He was able to grant others powers like he did when he gave every hero on Earth the power of flight.
    • Hercules normal level of physical power was also amped to the such a high degree that even taking a step caused massive shock waves and cratering of the ground he walked upon. He was also able to kill his resurrected, Chaos King-empowered father, Zeus (who had just taken Galactus down with minimal effort), with but one strike.
    • His strength and power was also such that he was able to confront, physically engage and scatter the entire membership of Council of Godheads at the same time.
    • He teleported Galactus from across the cosmos to fight for his cause and he summoned Eternity himself (attempting to enlist him, too), against the will of both.
    • Hercules' durability was such that when he was attacked and seemingly fatally wounded by his Chaos-King empowered sister, Athena, he showed no sign of pain and healed instantly.
    • Hercules was able to grow in size and presence to a plantetary-scale and then engage the Chaos King (the being whom possessed the combined power of literally every godly pantheon and every dead soul that had ever existed anywhere in the universe from the beginning of time) and match him stength for strength and fight him to a standstill.
    • Finally, once the threat of the Chaos King was ended, the power of Sky-father Hercules was such that he was able to undo everything the Chaos King had done. Including restoring every destroyed planet & realm and resurrecting every being or entity that had perished at the Chaos King's hands. Unfortunately for Hercules, do to him being severely wounded in his final battle with the Chaos King and unwilling to wait until he healed from his wounds, this final act of universal restoration used up every bit of his godly might including his usual, previous non-sky-father powers.

As grand as it was to see Hercules wield such power sadly in many ways one of the key things that was wrong with the story. I also never quite understood how the combination of items collected during "Prince of Power" turned Hercules so powerful.

    magic

It was more because of the mix of particular items. Ambrosia, golden apples, and amirti all give the consumer immortality. Each is a different pantheon's version of essentially the same thing. The book of Thoth was the only thing that was different. So again even for magic it never made sense to me why this formula would augment a god so much. Maybe to a level equal to other skyfathers, but not to an abstract level.

I suppose that is what Pak and Lente were going for, but it has never felt right by me. Gods and other beings struggle for centuries to go up the ladder of power only a few steps or have to shake the universe to its very foundation. Hercules gets it through a magic cocktail that puts him at the very top? Prince of Power and Chaos War each started out with good ideas but by the end had so many plot holes I honestly find it best not to try and rationalize it.

    Yes, I agree.

It makes sense that this never-before-conceived mixture of powerful immortality magic could and would grant power beyond all sky-fathers, power easily on an abstract level, because the power was generated from the combination of power from the four most powerful godly pantheons of Earth.

I agree you cannot rationalize it. That is what separates it from science. At the same time you have to be careful with it so it does not come out of nowhere to resolve the plot like Dr. Strange has so often been used as. Magic usually has some sort of symbolism associated with it. An eagle's feather is part of a flight spell because eagle's fly. Get someones blood and it has a connection to them since it was from them. For me, the leap that those combination of items can turn someone into an abstract level being is a stretch. But then I admit anything that is supposed to grant you supreme, ultimate omnipotence tends not to sit well for me in recent years. It feels too easy of an out, far too easily acquired, and far too many have built up in Marvel over the years so what were once items that bestowed omnipotence like infinity gems and cosmic cubes are now greatly downgraded so the newest easily gained omnipotence is at the top of the food chain.

I guess another example would be Thor: Vikings by Garth Ennis. In it, somehow botched rune spell by a backwoods human conjurer powered by his blood that is supposed to cause the Vikings a thousand years of pain transforms them into undead killers with the captain being far mightier than Thor. Ennis used magic as a quick cop out.

@powerherc: He did not use up all of his godly powers, He simply created world where he was no longer a god, because he did not want to be one. Even when Zeus offered him to restore his godliness he refused and blocked the blessing with a shield.

No, I'm afraid he did. Athena stated he would loose all of his powers in his weakened condition. Later, he refused to have his godhood returned to him and Zeus has never been one to force it upon him. Fact is Hercules loved being a god, or at least a god at his usual level, for the high level of adventure it gave him.

He actually did give up his "Sky-Father" powers. He lost them repairing the multiverse despite being warned by Athena he would lose them if he used them before he healed from the wounds he incurred battling the Chaos King. Whatever his reasons for refusing being returned to his usual level of godly might by Zeus, it's pretty clear that Hercules does indeed enjoy his usual level of godly might.

It's apparent that Hercules losing his "Sky-Father" powers had to happen because having him remain at that power-level would've made/kept him the most powerful being in the Marvel Universe (which wouldn't make sense or sit well with Marvel fans) and it would also ruin Hercules as a fun-loving, skirt-chasing, beer-drinking and brawling type of character. It's also fairly apparent that Hercules being reduced to a mortal with very limited enhanced strength was a plot-device used to set up the "Herc" ongoing which featured him as a street-level hero. That experiment has failed and is over, so now it's time for Marvel to return Hercules to his usual (meaning top tier) levels of strength, stamina and durability. Levels he's had, and been depicted enjoying, for his the vast majority of his nearly 50 years of existence in the Marvel Universe.

Sounds great but Marvel has only rarely given their Hercules the respect he deserves.

I'd like it if Marvel put Olympus and it's gods in the MCU but I'd definitely want them presented in a way that would make it clear they are on par with the Asgardians in terms of power and ability. I'd want Hercules shown to be stronger than Thor, too.

I still dont understand why Skyfather Herc was multiversal in power. Hence the word "Skyfather" being below elder gods and abstracts.
