Secret Invasion’s Incredible Hercules #118 Gets A New Printing!

Marvel is pleased to announce that due to overwhelming demand for Incredible Hercules #118, which led to a quick sellout at Diamond, the issue will return with Incredible Hercules #118 Second Printing Variant! The critically-acclaimed series from the red-hot writing duo of Greg Pak & Fred Van Lente, along with rising star artist Rafa Sandoval, present the newly formed God Squad on a mission to defeat the Skrull gods in this Secret Invasion tie-in. But what does Nightmare have to do with all this? And who isn't what they seem? Incredible Hercules #118 Second Printing Variant features Sandoval's stunning interior art on a new cover.

"I couldn't be happier with both the art and the story," said Paul Brian McCoy of ComicsBulletin.Com. "They work hand in hand to create one of the best current Marvel runs I can remember. It's consistent, too. This is a title that everyone should be reading."

Kyle Posluszny of WeeklyComicBookReview.Com gushed, "Incredible Hercules scores again with another good issue. The story is fun, the writing is excellent, and the artwork is almost always a treat to look at. As I said before, if you aren't reading this series, you should be."

"It seems like this title can do no wrong," said Bryan Joel of IGN.Com, who deems Incredible Hercules a "must-read."

Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Incredible Hercules, as the series – and all Secret Invasion tie-ins – continue to sell out quickly! With a traitor in their midst, will the God Squad survive this mission intact? Keep reading Incredible Hercules to find out!

This post relates to: Hercules, Amadeus Cho, Greg Pak, Fred Van Lente

I'm not sure what to make of the Incredible Herc.  Hercules has never really been a favorite of mine.  I do like Amadeus Cho.  The two of them are pretty much the odd couple.  That's what makes this title work to an extent.  If it was a Hercules solo, I'm not so sure I could bring myself to read it month after month.  At least since they're getting in on the Skrull Invasion storyline, things should continue to be interesting.

With Secret Invasion in full swing, Hercules’ sister Athena has banded together a sacred group of deities to face the imminent Skrull threat! Incredible Hercules #117, a tie-in to the red-hot Secret Invasion event, gives you a front row seat to a battle of divine proportions. In this issue, the critically acclaimed writing team of Greg Pak and Fred Van Lente unveil the premiere appearance of the all new GOD SQUAD, including fan-favorite Snowbird! With pencils from the rising star Rafa Sandoval and a stunning cover by John Romita Jr., Klaus Janson and Dean White, this issue is sure to make your eyes pop.

Brian Joel of IGN states that “Herc is one of the most consistently enjoyable and well-done books on the stands today.”

Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Incredible Hercules and all other Secret Invasion tie-ins as they continue to sell out at Diamond and as fans continue to ask “Who do you trust?”

Can the GOD SQUAD protect the Marvel Universe from the “Sacred Invasion”? How will the master tactician, Amadeus Cho, fit into this epic equation? And is one of them a Skrull?! Find out the answers to these questions and more in the action-packed Incredible Hercules #117!

This post relates to: Hulk, Hercules, Greg Pak, Fred Van Lente, Khoi Pham

Yeah, that title is a little misleading.  It'd be nice to see them go toe to toe today.  Hulk can't be too happy that Herc decided to swipe his title right out from under him.  "Incredible Herc"?  Please.  I'll admit I'm starting to like ol' Herc more and more reading his adventures with Amadeus Cho.  Even seeing Herc vs Red Hulk would be cool.  Red Hulk doesn't seem to mess around.  But here we get the old "never-before seen" tale.  You gotta figure if it's never been seen before, it can't be that big a deal.  But seeing the image of Ben in the wrestling ring peaks my interest.  Is this from the days of the Unlimited Class Wrestling Federation?  Ha, those were the days...

Hulk smashes Hercules. Hercules clobbers Hulk. Well, just who is stronger - the Green Goliath or the Lion of Olympus? The critically-acclaimed creative team behind Incredible Hercules look to answer that question in a mammoth-sized one-shot Hulk vs. Hercules: When Titans Collide.

Following the events of the first arc of Incredible Hercules, Hercules and Amadeus Cho hit the road and along the way, the Prince of Power reveals a never-before seen story of him going against ol' Green Scar himself -- the Incredible Hulk! And this story sets up themes for the upcoming "Sacred Invasion" story beginning in May's Incredible Hercules #117 that you won't want to miss.

Plus, this one-shot features a classic Hulk and Hercules brawl from Tales to Astonish #79 filled with even more smashing, crashing, mashing and lashing (and probably a lot of property damage). Both heroes have both been called "Incredible," but just who will win take the title when Hulk and Hercules go nose-to-nose in Hulk vs. Hercules: When Titans Collide?

This post relates to: Hercules

I was never really a big Hercules fan but he's growing on me.  It helps to have Amadeus Cho with him.  They make a very interesting pairing.  Not sure how long this series is going to last.  It's just weird that they did away with Incredible Hulk and replaced it.  Surprising that in this day and age, Marvel decided not to try to promote a new #1 issue.  Maybe that was the point.  Too many new #1's on the stands.  This way it looks like Incredible Herc is an established series.

One of Marvel’s most critically-acclaimed series continues in Incredible Hercules #116 as Hercules and Amadeus Cho must deal with the revelation that Earth is headed towards a war it may not survive! Written by Greg Pak (World War Hulk) & Fred Van Lente (Wolverine: First Class), with art by hot new talent Rafa Sandoval and a cover by the legendary John Romita Jr, this issue sets the stage for next month’s Secret Invasion tie-in. Sent to San Francisco on a mission of grave importance, Marvel’s newest heroic duo come face to face with Eternals…well, make that fist to face! But is Hercules really an Eternal? Or might he be something more alien?

IGN.Com declared Incredible Hercules one of Marvel’s best books, gushing, “Everything about Incredible Hercules has been pitch perfect.”

“Once again, Pak and Van Lente have delivered the goods, with yet another excellent script which proves that this team is one of the best writing teams that Marvel currently employs,” exclaimed Adam Chapman of Comixtreme.Com.

With Secret Invasion looming on the horizon, how does this titanic battle between Herc and the Eternals affect the former Avenger’s role in this epic event? Find out in Incredible Hercules #116!

Incredble Herc?  I just can't get past that.  How long until if reverts back to Hulk.  It still says Hulk in the fine print.  We have Red Hulk to look forward to.  I'm not worried.  I'll sit back and enjoy the ride while it lasts.  Hulk deserves a rest after World War Hulk.

Marvel is pleased to reveal newly-exclusive artist Daniel Acuna’s stunning variant cover to Incredible Hercules #114! Featuring Hercules and a familiar team of friends from Los Angeles, the Incredible Hercules #114 Acuna Variant Cover is a can’t-miss for fans of this critically acclaimed series!

This post relates to: Avengers, Hercules, Ares, Greg Pak, Art Adams, Fred Van Lente

This should be interesting.  Hercules is the a god.   He's supposed to be the strongest.  So he should have no problem taking on the Avengers, right?  But then, they have Ares.  The God of War.  It's funny that the Avengers and Tony Stark spend so much time going after unregistered heroes instead of worrying about the actual villains.  Maybe they figure that the heroes will hold back when fighting them where as the villains could go all out against them and try to kill them.  You can have a slimeball like Norman Osborn in a position of power just because he signed a piece of paper.  Yet those that continue to risk their lives for others are considered the "bad guys."  Let's hope Herc tells them a thing or two.  Plus we get a cover by Art Adams!

It had to happen—Hercules battles Ares in a fight that’s been brewing for centuries! Incredible Hercules #113, from the acclaimed writing team of World War Hulk architect Greg Pak and fan-favorite Fred Van Lente, lushly illustrated by rising star Khoi Pham, the duo of Hercules and Amadeus Cho continue their escape from S.H.I.E.L.D.—but Ares will have none of that! Teaming with fellow Mighty Avengers member Wonder Man, the God Of War aims to extract revenge for times past with a weapon so deadly, so potent, that Hercules will not escape unscathed! Smashing out of WWH, this is the book that’ll show you just why Hercules & Cho may just be the hottest new team of 2008!

“Greg and Fred have crafted an amazing story that delves into Herc’s past and brings a mythic quality to the present arc,” said Senior Editor Mark Paniccia. “And then there’s Khoi and Paul Neary’s art and fantastic coloring by the great Stephan Peru. Get ready for an epic tale that will knock you into the next century.”

It’s all out action like only the God Of War could bring you and by this issue’s end, Hercules will never be the same—then again, he may not survive! Marvel urges retailers to check their orders on Incredible Hercules #113, continuing the fallout from World War Hulk and featuring an all-new variant cover by Pham. This is the battle you’ve been demanding and now it’s time for the Gods to war like you’ve never seen before!

This post relates to: Hercules, Amadeus Cho, Fred Van Lente, Greg Pak, Hulk

I'm glad Hercules was there for Hulk but I have to admit I've never really been a fan.  He's always seemed a little...boring.  Sure he likes to fight and party but there's just something about him.  Maybe it's because Marvel has always given more attention to the Norse Gods over the Greek Gods.  We'll see if they really can make a Herc fan out of me.

That’s right True Believers! After the earth-shattering—literally!—events of World War Hulk, the jade giant is seemingly no more and new heroes must rise up in Incredible Hulk #112! Written by World War Hulk architect Greg Pak and acclaimed author Fred Van Lente, and featuring the art of rising star Khoi Pham, this is the comic that everyone’s already buzzing about! When confronted by S.H.I.E.L.D., Hercules and Amadeus Cho are faced with quite possibly the toughest decisions of their lives and…well, let’s just say that their final choice will leave your jaw on the floor! As Hercules’ past, present and future collide, Pak, Van Lente and Pham set Incredible Hulk on a path so powerful, so controversial that the entire series must be renamed Incredible Hercules as of issue #113!

"Irresponsible Greek god, incorrigible teen genius, massive levels of wanton destruction, twisty plotting, snappy dialogue, unexpected emotion, and gorgeous art by the inestimable Khoi Pham," smiled Pak. "What's not to love?"

"We've got Herc fighting his way through S.H.I.E.L.D.-occupied territory in the present but are constantly flashing back to Ray Harryhausen-style mythic battles in ancient Greece, all beautifully rendered by Khoi Pham,” gushed Van Lente. “That juxtaposition between classic legends and the right-here, right-now is what's made this series such a joy for me to co-write -- and, we hope, that's why people will love reading it, too."

The book that Wizard called the “best ongoing series of 2007” takes its most dramatic turn yet, as Incredible Hulk #112 sets Hercules & Amadeus Cho on a path from which there is no return! If you thought you knew what to expect from Herc, think again folks—this is the issue that’ll make you a Hercules fan for life!
