Great for what it is, so-so art, though.
Thought I'd write up a review for this, since Herc's always been a favorite of mine. Basically, Hercules is dead, and now is not the time to mourn his death, but celebrate his life. It starts with a funeral procession in Greece, and Amadeus Cho cursing Hera. Afterwards, a whole group of Marvel heroes arrive to have their say. Thor, Namor, Namora, Black Widow, Snowbird, a Dark Elf Queen, Bruce Banner, and Cho(briefly) get to have their say, and each is great. The Dark Elf Queen, in particular, adds a bit of levity to what could have been a bit of a depressing book. There's even a clever little gag with Northstar that I liked. And of course, like everytime, the Greek Gods ruin the party, kicking everyone except Cho out of the temple. There's an amusing little post-story involving Namora and Venus from Agents of Atlas notifying people of Herc's death, but it's nothing major, so I left it out. My one complaint about this book is that the art on some of the faces seems a little off to me, particularly anytime someone is smiling. That could just be me, though. Overall, a great book, and I can't wait for part two.
