Hepzibah was, along with Ch'od, Corsair and Raza, one of the founding members of the Starjammers. Hepzibah was imprisoned by a group of Shi'ar slave drivers along with the aforementioned three. It was through her pain that Corsair made the choice to rebel against the slave drivers. After the four's escape, they banded together to form the Starjammers. After her experiences with the Shi'ar, Hepzibah became obsessive on destroying the Shi'ar people wherever she found them.

Rise and Fall of the Shi'ar Empire

When the several X-Men venture into space to take down Vulcan, who had vowed revenge on the Shi'ar for what they did to him as a child and his mother. There, the X-Men caught up Starjammers. While they plotted how to take down the Shi'ar, Hepziabh seemed to really hit it off with Warpath. She took part in the final battle of this arc (and after seeing Corsair die), and got onboard a ship of the resistance and went to the armory to get weapons. When she returned, Lilandra had set the ship to head back to Earth, and Hepzibah was taken to Earth with Warpath, Nightcrawler, Professor X and Darwin.

The Extremists and Messiah CompleX

During the Extremists arc in Uncanny X-Men, Hepzibah helped take down the Morlocks. At the end of this arc, she also started a relationship with Warpath.

During Messiah Complex, Hepzibah was drafted into the new incarnation of X-Force, created to hunt down Cable. While fighting in the battle finale of the event on Muir Island, Hepzibah was badly injured by Predator X.
