I am sure that Hellboy fans would be more than thrilled to see a third 'Hellboy' movie, but will it ever happen? According to a recent report by MTV, 'Hellboy' director Guillermo del Toro would love to make a third film to finish out the trilogy, but he says it isn't really up to him.
If you are a fan of Hellboy, then you probably have some idea of what del Toro meant when he said "I don't know if I want to see that ending," because frankly, neither do I. As a fan of the character, I think the last thing I would want to see is the end of 'Hellboy,' and based on an interview with Mike Mignola from a few years back, it seems his death is inevitable."I think that everyone should ask Ron [Perlman if he wants to do it]," He's doing 'Sons of Anarchy' without makeup. He's spoiled! He likes to be the big cheese without the makeup session...I would love to do it but the heartbreak for me is that I know how it ends and I don't know if I want to see that ending. But I would love to do it."
I personally think it would only be fair if Mignola was the one to end Hellboy's life, considering he is the character's creator. I would much rather see Hellboy die in the comics before he does in the movies. What do you guys think? Would you like to see a third Hellboy film? Would you be okay with his death in the third film?“The problem is ‘Hellboy III’ would be the end of Hellboy,” said Mignola. “And here’s where we have the big conflict. My version of Hellboy in the comics is a finite story, but it’s going to take me 15 years to get to the ending. If he makes ‘Hellboy III’ and it’s the death of Hellboy, I’m left doing the comic going, ‘But I’m not done yet'...My Hellboy is going to die, but I want to be the one who does that. And if del Toro does my ending, there won’t be a lot of surprise when I get to the end of the comic.”
