Long live Ley Lines!
What I enjoyed most of the Jamie Delano Hellbazer run was how his John Constantine was rooted in Pseudosciences and occult practices that you can learn more about from the "right" kind of shops.
In this book Jamie Delano plays on the big thing at that time, which were Ley Lines. An alleged alignments of a number of places geological points of interests, where it is believe d to have a path of energy. Think of it as a blood stream of the earth where good or bad energy can move along these lines. In the late 80s and early 90s, Ley Lines were the big occult thing. It would make sense that the readers of Hellblazer at the time would know the basics of this. In the modern age we can learn anything want to learn about Ley Lines and after this book, I will be surprised if you don't.
This is one of the stories that got me into learning about "Magick". I loved the idea of the transfer of energy and the creation of things. This book is one of the more Magically accurate of the Hellblazer series. When Jamie Delano would to leave John Constantine's stories became more about the Cons then the magic, or magic closer to Zatanna's (meaning non-researched and accutally practiced magic). I miss the magic lessons taught in Hellblazer. Such as divining.
Thank ya kindly Vertigo for taking you sweet time to release this trade!
It was nice to reread in this format!
Cheers
