All Questions Answered, Now We Have New Ones To Ponder
All of the questions we had going into this arc have basically been answered, what's going on with Epiphany's face? Why did John go crazy? Who is that kid that has a crush on Epiphany? What motive does Shade have in all this? All of these questions are answered in this issue, however only to be given a bunch of NEW questions. Questions that will obviously lead into the next arc. This isn't the last we've seen of Shade.
The artwork is slowly growing on me, I originally thought it was too cartoonish, but after years of Leonardo it was obviously going to be awhile before we got used to someone new. I like the way Giuseppe Camuncoli draws Shade and he really captures the craziness that Shade carries with him.
Also we get a brief bit of the old John Constantine in this book, with the torture scene which was really really cool. With Peter Milligan he seems to dive more into John's psyche then the other writers on this series. Most of the other writers focus on John being an @$$hole or him being a con man. With Peter, it's more on what makes John tick and I like that he is trying something new. Keep on doing what you're doing Peter, because I for one like that your are escaping the norm and doing something a little different. More power to yeah.
Good ending, although I don't think this is the true ending to this arc, the true ending to this arc is still a while away. When all the new questions are answered. That'll be the true ending to this arc. Overall buy it, you won't be disappointed, and if you haven't been reading this arc then you might want to start back at issue 297 because this is a story you won't want to miss. if you are a John Constantine fan.
