Story
Mankind has been brought to its knees and there it waits in silence for the Beast to put it out of its misery, Angie stands knocking outside at the Streamtham lock-up.As the possessed Gemma begins to cut John's neck,Angie drives her car right thru the lock-up door.She gets out of the car to confront the possessed Chas and Gemma,Swamp Thing Attacks Chas as The Beast releases the duo and notices the stick in Angie's hand.The others realize Angie's arrival was all part of John's plan as Swamp Thing knows what he wants him to do with the stick from Eden,he slices his arm open and puts the branch inside the cut.Assimilating the piece of Eden he gains spiked armor,Deep in John's conscience The Beast continues to try to gain control.Swamp Thing delivers some parting words to the last free humans before stalking off through the Green to face the Beast,worried about their defenses Gemma tells Angie to make a circle and to clear their minds.The Beast decides to direct its attention at the happenings in the Lock-up,Gemma tells them to think of a dog right before they all become possessed.Bragging to John about its success is cut short by Swamp Thing's arrival,he begins to tear through it tendrils and ripping him to pieces.Distracted by Swamp Thing,The Beast loses its control over Gemma thus allowing her to let loose the thought of a giant dog into the human consciousness.The Beast removes the human soul within Swamp Thing and then is attacked by a new Shadow Dog that promptly kills him,everyone at the Lock-up realizes they were all part of John's plan but notices he has disappeared.A group of paramedics notice a man with cut on his neck,John has lost his memory.

Overview
The first half of Carey's run is over and it has created some of the best Hellblazer stories in years.Ellis and Azzarello really grounded John but Carey has managed to bring back his Magical roots and planted some more.To be honest im not sure if Carey can top this storyline but now i understand why it was so bloody hard to find,magic has been absent from Hellblazer since Jenkins run but now its back and better then ever!
