Hellblazer #185

Story 
John and Angie arrive in Western Iran thanks to mate called Salim, he tells them he can go no further and they venture the rest of the way on foot. Angie wonders how Eden can be in Iran when John points out that their current locale is only one of several on Earth that stands close to Eden, a group of gun carring men take them to a small settlement.  A old woman named Ghursoon mentions John has been there before and stole The Testament of the Nephilim thus is escorted away and put in a cell. A young woman named Beriti enters his cell and with the help of some guards rough him up, Angie arrives to stop the beating when John tells her the people are direct descendants of Cain and that they wait at the gates of Eden for their pardon. He then tells her he will  face trial by ordeal to determine whether or not he is guilty of the theft, next he orders her to take some of his hair and bury it in the Garden of Eden. While she ventures to the garden, John is visited by Ghursoon who by request tells him of a beast that escaped Eden with Adam and Eve, also it  "screamed when it was named' but she doesnt know the name. Angie arrives at the garden where she bury John's hair only to be confronted by the angel with the sword of fire, he doesnt kill her but gives her a branch. John's begins his trial as he must put his arm into a cauldron of burning water and if he is innocent he will not be harmed, once he does his arm come out safe so he and Angie depart. Once they get a few paces away John's arm begins to boil as he used meditation to keep the temperature down when he drove his arm into the cauldron. They set up camp for the night while Swamp Thing visits and tells John that six days ago something very big came from the subtle realms into the world of flesh, something much smaller…but still bigger than a man…followed it two days later. Also it happened once before in Tasmania two hundred years ago.

The travels continue while Carey helps John's mythology grow in new and innovative ways.I can tell he is building up to a battle while if its anything like ive seen in Lucifer will be Fantastic!
