    In "The Wild Card," the first of three linked stories that provide a great jumping-on point for new readers, John and Angie travel to South America in search of information about the shadow dog. The first stop is the small town of Juliema, Brazil, where John encounters an old friend and is drawn into a game of poker...a game with terrifyingly high stakes.

    Story John and Angie travel to Juliema, Brazil in search for answers about the shadow dog that has been running throught peoples dreams and broke the first door. In Brazil Angie wait at a bar as a man named Paho gives her a joker playing card for John and says hes sorry, men arrive to take him back to game of poker. Meanwhile, John is deep in the jungle and speaks to his old pal Swamp Thing, they discuss the destruction of the Parliament Of Trees until he jokes around and gets Swamp Thing very p...
