Story
Joshua in disbelief, checks to see if Clarice and Albert somehow survived while John tells one of Fredericks men what the Sepulchre looks like. He reveals that it is actually the drawstring on the Russian sailor's dufflebag and then kicks him in the balls and takes his car. Joshua learns Clarice and Albert escaped, Map Tells them that John used the ward of stolen light spell to trick Joshua and allow them to escape. Gemma confronts Fredericks on him using her as bait as Joshua warns Goodall of John's inpeding arrival. John appears in the doorway of the storeroom as the ghostly image of Kali posses Goodall. Meanwhile Clarice, Albert and Map perform some magic to help John in his endgame. John then confronts Fredericks, who has Gemma's essence connected to a mirror and threatens to break it. John tells him that the Sepulchre can be used to invoke a beserker rage in someone when used as part of a spell that involves exposing it to blood. The possessed Goodall then kills Joshua and the rest of Fredericks men. Fredericks then demands that John gives him the Sepulchre as Goodall Procedes to kill him as well. John uses some magic to stop Goodall, he then leaves with Gemma safe due to the spell Clarice and the others did. At the grave of a Tate Club memember Clarice tells john she is sorry for what they did to Gemma, reveals why Fredericks wanted the Sepulchre due to wanted to one of three doors( the first of said portals being the one between the worlds of the living and the dead) and his nightmares about the Dog.

Overview
Carey wraps up his first arc in nothing less then a stellar way and sets up more for his future arcs. You can always tell how good a new writer will be on Hellblazer after their first arc. Ex.
