    Going back down a step

The Good: Moebius starts a new ongoing series in this issue, called "The Airtight Garage of Jerry Cornelius" which is a little disjointed, but thus far is pretty good. "Polonius" and "Den" also continue, and continue to bring some quality to the issue. This issue also has what I'd consider possibly one of the best of the one-shot stories in the magazine - "Turod". Not only is it a one-shot that doesn't have an outer-limits ending, but it's also a one-shot that has what I'd consider more of an uplifting ending, reminding me more of transcendental psychedelia, then of the other more cynical endings that the one-shots have had (which give more of an impression that the writer didn't know how to write an ending). The prose short story for this issue - "The Singsong of Cecily Snow" by Theodore R. Sturgeon, is also incredibly good.

The Bad: Moebius' one-shot for the issue, "How Good is Man?" feels like it's got too long of a build-up for a really short joke.  "Jet Man", another one shot, doesn't seem to go anywhere, and I don't know whether Denis Sire's "Operation Omega" was poorly plotted in the first place or merely poorly translated, but I read it three times and couldn't get a sense of what was going on in the story.

The Confusing: Zha and Claveloux's continue the Plant Dream series, ending the woman's half of the story. Having read all of the chapters of this little series by now, I now have an idea of what Zha and Claveloux were going for. Still, the chapters with the un-named woman seem to make the least sense.

The Verdict: I'm not as satisfied with this issue as I was with the last issue of the series. There's still some good stuff here, but the quality isn't where I'd like it to be, if that makes any sense.
