Lucifer is a series published by Vertigo that tells the tale of Lucifer Morningstar after the events that began in The Sandman and though it revolves around many stories, one of the main ones can be seen as Lucifer seeking the aid of The Basanos and then the spirits going out of control and the revelation of Elaine Belloc's heritage as this series introduces the first appearance of her father, who happens to be one of the most powerful beings in this series' universe. This story also features some moments for Lucifer including him regaining some of the power and glory he once had.

NOTE: Despite the fact that the series is entitled Lucifer and as such would imply that Lucifer makes an appearance in every issue, he does not, in fact he misses out completely on ten issues and simply makes cameos or minor roles in many others, this series though focused upon him is not as much his story as it is the story of all those who ever cross his path.
