History

Griffin was surrounded by a mob and was considered to be insane. He wanted to start the "Epoch of the Invisible Man" in which he would rule. Griffin managed to escape by changing an albino bystander invisible. Hawley Griffin managed to sneak into an all girl school owned by Miss Rosa Coote. While at the school, he had his way with the students. Mina Murray, Allan Quartermain, and Captain Nemo eventually are dispatched to the school by Campion Bond. The night the three stayed, Miss Murray found Hawley Griffin raping a student. Quartermain, Nemo, Mina Murray, and Griffin go to the Secret Annexe of the British Museum. Griffin joins the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen after being promised a large sum of money, a search for a cure for his condition, and a pardon for his crimes. Griffin aided the League in their fight against the Devil Doctor and Professor Moriarty. Griffin also shadowed Bond and found out that Bond was actually M.

After witnessing the beginning of the Martian invasion and hearing what Captain Nemo said about the Martian's weaponary, Griffin found that the human race had no hope of survival. He joined the Martians and helped them only if they promised that he would rule along side them. He managed to steal the plans for the defense of London, as well as humiliate and assault Mina Murray. Griffin advised the Martians about the Nautilis. Griffin returned to the Secret Annexe of the British Museum and confronted Hyde there. Hyde was upset about the way Griffin treated Murray. Since Hyde could see Griffin (due to infrared vision) and smell him, Hyde killed Hawley Griffin.
