Probably one of the first things I´ve read of DC was "Blackest Night" (by Johns and Ivan Reis) and in the first issue of this awesome series Ray Palmer was desperate to talk to his buddy Carter, about his ex-wife murdering Sue Dibny (as seen in the fantastic and epic JLA - Identity Crisis by Brad Meltzer and Rags Morales), only to find out that Carter was killed and transformed into a Black Lantern (that happened in issue # 2 of Blackest Night), so I was starting to wonder (since Oliver Queen brought up his name in issue # 5) when Ray Plamer would pop up in this series and catch a talk with his friend Carter, so the cover of this issue pretty much says it all - They (Hawkman and Atom) are both strange characters to me, but Johns elaborated such good, light and rich dialogues between these two that felt like I´ve been reading about them for a long time - the atmosphere for their meeting is nothing but incredible since they are talking about the good things of life, that it has no value if you´re only worried about the costume (that goes as a lesson to everybody that only thinks about their job, career, and leave for granted family, friends, lovers) - there´s a dialogue between the two of them that pretty much describe this: "Without a personal life, there isn´t a world worth saving" - the other topic of their conversation is about Kendra, who´s searching for her parents killer, she´s got a new lead, thanks to St. Roch finest, so the action in this issue is on her tab - I really enjoyed this issue because of the blend of action and good conversation, the different moods of this issue resulted in a balance story, a pesonal story, all that with the incredible art of Rags Morales. Highly Recommended
