Anybody else here reading Haunt?

It's by Robert Kirkman (Invincible), Todd McFarlane,& Greg Capullo (Spawn). It's about a wayward priest who gets sucked into his deceased brother's life as a spy. Oh and he can also see his Brother's ghost and when he becomes possessed by his brother they combine to become the hero "Haunt". I kind of wrote the series off at first when I saw the main character, my first thought was "Really? This looks like Spider-Spawn" but I gave it a chance and it's a really great series. If you like the idea of the new Venom being a black ops agent then you'll love this, because I swear this is where marvel got that idea from. The story is very action packed but with plenty of well written dialog and interesting relationship dynamics and McFarlane & Capullo's artwork is excellent.

I think you'll really enjoy the series. You can't go wrong with Kirkman's writing and McFarlane/Capullo's vintage artwork IMO. I started with the trade that collects issue 1-5 and started buying single issues up to 11. Glad Issue 12 drops next week. To be honest the best cape book I'm reading right now is most likely this title right here.

McFarlane does the pencils on issues 1-6 and Capullo takes over on 7. At the switch over Todd starts doing the inks/coloring, so you really do get the best of both worlds. Usually when a title has a transition in artist it can take a little adjusting to, but Todd and Greg have been working together for so long that everything just flows perfectly. And the way Kirkman's plotted out the story actually helps this effect. The shift in art styles happens right when a major shift in the characters lives occurs so it's very fitting.

Really sets up issue 12 perfectly. Hope this arc ends with an EPIC battle. I here the next arc is gonna feature an enemy with powers similar to Haunt.
