Harvey Bullock
Character » Harvey Bullock appears in 1331 issues.
Harvey Bullock was once a corrupt GCPD cop, until he turned over a new leaf and made a conscious effort to be an honest lawman. He is now one of Jim Gordon's most trusted officers.
Tom Hardy as Detective Harvey Bullock in The Dark Knight Rises?
According to imdb, Tom Hardy will be playing Detective Harvey Bullock. At this point in time, it is a mere rumor, but the role makes perfect sense, and Tom Hardy would fit the role very well. Batman, after the second film, is on the lamb, and who better to bring him down than a corrupt cop, that eventually becomes one of the "good guys" after essentially seeing the error in his ways.
If we see Bullock in the movie, will we get the corrupt cop who has his own set of rules, even if there's corruption involved or the Private Eye who has turned a new leaf? Many people remember the character from the Batman: The Animated Series television series, where Bullock was portrayed a little bit more as comic relief than anything. Don't expect that in this film. Personally, I think Hardy could pull this off. He's tough as nails, and can make this Detective incredibly intimidating. What do you guys think? Will Hardy be playing Bullock?
" I for my part would prefer a more heavy built, overweight actor because that is what makes part of Harvey's style. "I agree but he shouldn't be overweight.
" @Risque said:Harvey Bullock isn't exactly thin. I would think that Nolan would go for an actor who fits the build, so to speak." I for my part would prefer a more heavy built, overweight actor because that is what makes part of Harvey's style. "I agree but he shouldn't be overweight. "
Woah woah woah. Not Harvey Bullock material. Vincent Denofrio is the first person off the top of my head when I think of a real life Harvey.
No one pay attention to IMBD they listed James Franco as the rumored villain (Riddler) a few months ago that gives you an idea of how accurate it is.
" No one pay attention to IMBD they listed James Franco as the rumored villain (Riddler) a few months ago that gives you an idea of how accurate it is. "Truth. Anyone with an account can edit those things... so yeah several crazy casting rumors have come from there. I don't believe this one myself.
I just wanna go on record as saying if this is true, I TOTALLY called in in the previous post when his casting was announced... my shitty typing notwithstanding.

wait in the batman begins movie i thought
this was harvey i mean he was moore built and was dealing with falcone and batman cought him i mean doesnt he seem likea more realistic harvey for the batman movies

Exactly. As much as IMDB is the most useful movie database on the web, you can't take these rumors seriously. It usually says "rumor" under a character that they're unsure is going to be in the movie or not
Hi !
Tom Hardy or not, whatever : Bullock is a good character, with real potential. Oh yes, it's a fat man in the comics (a Dc universe's Sam Burke, in some way) but remember Alfred Pennyworth is a thin old man in the comics... and Michael Caine is perfect !
Dear mister Nolan, it's soon Christmas time so if you could add pleaaase a little more of "Gotham central" in your story... thanks thanks thanks.
Hihane washte.
"That was Flass. From Millers Batman year one. Who strangely was probably build more like Hardy.

I hope this rumor is untrue and is only misdirection.
As much as I want Bullock in this movie and thrilled to see Hardy signed on for Batman.
I don't think that combination is a good choice.
I think it would be a waste not to make Tom the Black Mask or as Hush or Deadshot.
I always saw someone like Michael Chiklis as Bullock. Watch him on the Shield and you'll see why he's the perfect guy for Bullock.
" @matrix10st said:Although, Hardy played British madman Charles Bronson and got sort of bulky for the part not so very long ago..."That was Flass. From Millers Batman year one. Who strangely was probably build more like Hardy. "

Could work. But I just think he might not look the part in the face. That's all I can say about that.
But just made me think, what if the idea of the movie isn't for Batman to fight a bad guy and end the trilogy. What if Batman becomes the bad guy and the cops have to bring him down and in the end, he redeems himself or something. Wait, maybe that requires a villain. I'm not sure. Never mind. lol
" He doesn't really hit me as "Bullock"...though neither did Nolan's version of Alfred. Wait and see~ (he will probably end up as a minor role anyway, anyone remembers Commisser Loeb? nope? he was in the previous flicks!) "Don't think you get Tom Hardy and then stuff him in a minor role.
Seems like a good direction to be going but now, I'm wondering who the villain is going to be.
