    Monster or an innocent child?

The issue's story unveils more and more the true nature of Emmy and what she is destined to become. Most of the issue is centered around her and her friend Bernice trying to run away from the county's citizens who are going after Emmy because she is finally starting to become the witch she is supposed to be. We might know the truth about Emmy and the witch that died years ago, but there's still a mystery going around the whole town and Emmy's future. None of the character, or we - the readers, know what exactly is going to happen next and how things will turn out for everybody and that is what makes this book so great.

When Cullen Bunn first started out becoming popular and was writing more and more comic books with each day, I wasn't exactly a great fan of his. I didn't like his work because there simply wasn't almost any depth in it. However, his work has become better with the days passing by and this can be seen here in Harrow County and in any of his other books currently coming out. I fancy his transition in terms of storytelling and character development and I can only say that I've become quite a devotee of his work.

The issue and the book all and all is doing tremendous job in building up tension and actual horror. THere hasn't been a comic book or anything fictional in recent times which has managed to impress me with it's attempt of a horror based story. The book doesn't center around jump scares or gore, but rather on building a picture which is quite disturbing if you look at it from distance and alltogether. While that is a great part of the issue and all of three of the issues in fact, the character - Emmy is someone who stands out quite well. She is not that type of girls that is always whining about the situation she is in or the one that is so fearless that will strike every monster she faces, but she is a well rounded young girl who can take care of herself while is in great fear of the things that are happening to her.

What helps out the story a lot is the artwork of Tyler Crook. He has a cartoonish style that might sound strange for a horror comic book but the mix between the two works perfectly. You can still see how scary all the ghosts are and the occurances in that forest. And what stands out the most is that boy whose body walks around without any flesh and his actual flesh is in the bag of Emmy. That my friends is something truly spine-chilling.

In conclusion, all I have to say is that Cullen Bunn does a great job yet again at developing the characters and the story while Crook delivers some great pages that make you love the story even more. I am keen on seeing what comes next and what happens next with Emmy and her father. I didn't think I would love this book and this issue so much but so far it's been a great surprise and a great addition to my pull-list.
