Choice exits a nightclub to find Hardcase gravely injured by lacerations against his chest and stomach. Hardcase is in a state between life and death like a drifting soul and can only witness when Hardwire, the ultra that hurt Hardcase, attacks. Thankfully, Choice summoned her shield ability and was safe against the attack. Choice takes Hardcase's body and brings it to a hospital so they can heal him. Hardcase believes he sees the soul of Starburst and she tells him that it was not his time to die. His regenerative abilities are ultra human so his condition stabilizes quickly. Meanwhile, Rex Mundi gives the Omega Team and Quattro a mission that wil take them to the moon. In the hospital, Hardcase and Choice are visited by the Alternate who informs the pair that Hardwire will be in a specific location later that night. Hardcase and Choice arrive at the location and defeat Hardwire, but not before Hardcase breaks both of his arms, to prevent Hardwire from killing some arresting officers. Hardcase is left wondering if he really did greet Starburst's soul earlier.
