    Happy!

When I heard about this series I initially thought I can't afford to get another series I will wait till the trade is out. But when I noticed that it was only 4 issues long it became much more appealing and I decided might as well get it, and I'm glad I did. I have loved Morrison's work since he started his run on Batman and have lost interest in his work as of late with Action Comics being a bit up and down on quality. This series however has started off brilliantly, it is an adult themed comic and Morrison isn't afraid to show it, with all the colourful language, the violence and blood.

    WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS!

The story is about an ex cop named Nick Sax who is the target of two of the Fratelli brothers who have accepted a hit that has been taken out on Sax. When they find their other two brothers dead, Sax makes and appearance revealing that he set up the hit to get three of the Fratelli brothers in one place, not expecting a fourth. After killing the third brother the fourth Mickey draws a gun on him and during the gun fight shoots Nick in the side. Sax is taken to hospital where he finds out Mickey died. Sax is being kept alive by mobsters as he is the only person now alive that knows the password to get the Fratelli fortune. Sax then starts seeing a blue cartoon unicorn called Happy who appears to be his only help of getting out of this mess.

This is a fun comic and I wasn't expecting to see a blue unicorn in it. It really is a mixed bag with all this violent adult content and a child like feel with a comical blue unicorn. I really like how Sax set up everything in detail even to a woman he saves earlier in the issue holding a sign to let the Fratelli's know he's behind them. I'm also happy that this is only a four issue series, besides the fact it will save money it also means that we wont have a dragged on series and that gives a better chance for more limited series out of this. I am also interested to see exactly what the mob will do to Sax to get the password out of him.

Final verdict. This is a brilliant first issue, but the overall content off the book might not be to everyone's taste. It will certainly appeal to fans of such series like The Boys, Punisher Max and anything will violence and bad language. I would recommend the issue to anyone who isn't afraid of this type of material as it is well worth the read.

    Rating: 4.5/5

Recommendation: Yes!This is one blue comic. And that is not just based on the feathers floating down on the cover, though that is a nice touch. Adult themes, language, violence, etc. abound. So, as you can imagine, it is not for the faint of heart. It is for me though. I loved it.It is perfectly gritty. The art is fantastic. The writing, is well, as you would expect. I mean, they don’t have a comic convention called MorrisonCon for nothing. So, from the perspective of someone who mostly reads super...

      Morrison and Robertson? Sold! 0

Why I Bought ItI've been a fan of Robertson's stuff since Transmetropolitan. Morrison can be hit or miss with his creator-owned stuff. Curiosity caught me on this one. And it was the first time that Morrison and Robertson have done an Image book, and done a book together - if memory serves correctly. What I LikedWell, this comic isn't meant for kids.Trust me, that is a good thing.Robertson has some terrific, consistent art that he delivers in this issue. You can tell that he is a master of his cr...
