Chances for a sequel are looking slim to none

    No Caption Provided

It is probably pretty difficult to make a sequel to a film, without the directorfrom the first film, right? This seems to be the problem that the sequel to Hancock is having. According to a report from hitfix, while superstar actor Will Smith who starred in the first Hancock motion picture may be available for a sequel, film director Peter Berg is not.

"There are so many cooks in that particular kitchen that are so busy and Will's kind of taken time off to be with his kids and his kids are now making all kinds of films and there are so many people involved in that from Will to his partner James Lassiter to Akiva [Goldsmith] to Michael Man and myself," Berg says.  "To get us all in the same room where we can talk and then agree on anything?  You'll never meet a group of people who will have a harder time agreeing on anything.  It's like the Israeli peace process times a thousand in how tough it is for us all.  But I think it will happen, we just all have to get in the same room with some consistency."

Did you see the first film? Do you think you would be interested in seeing a sequel if they got a different director?

I wasn't too thrilled with the first one,
it was good, yeah, a little boring at times as it kinda lacked a storyline until near the end.

I think it's good as a one-off superhero film, and shouldn't go any further.

first movie was ok. I trust all the talent involved to tie up the obvious loose ends such as the powers, lore, and other ...angels or whatever they where supposed to be, in the sequel.
But the great thing about it not being based on anything is that we arent really looking forward to anything else. If thats the end, then so be it.

Never saw the first one and probably never will.  Will Smith is overdone.  Stick a fork in him already.  Like Nicolas Cage and Jeff Goldblum, they just get to be very annoying very fast.

I liked the fist flim, and think a 2nd would be better because Berg is great, and the characters have been introduced.  They know what sucked with the last film because a lot of people hated it so they know what to avoid.

I haven't even seen the first film, but I don't see why having the same director would be so mandatory. The Harry Potter series of films have been done by different directors and they were just fine.

    @aztek the lost:
When you take into consideration how some books are translated into movies. There can be far worse.

You want a bad adaptation. Check out the Jurassic Park books. The Lost World movie had maybe three scenes from the book. Everything else was different.

The bigger the book the more they have to cut. I have been hearing news that they will be splitting the last book into two movies so they wont have to cut as much. I didn't say they were great adaptations, but fine.

I think if they had another chance maybe some good writers and a very strong story it would work.. I would like to go deeper into this world and learn more about the people and the powers of this universe. Also maybe a comic out of it...some cross-overs into other worlds I dont think they should give up so soon. I have seen worse things get more and more green lights so im down with Hancock 2...

I believe they should expand the superhero Hancock. He's one of those superhero types which people can relate to. Being not perfect, crude, but still has this calling to save people. They should definitely do a sequel for the movie and a comic series.

As soon as Charlize Theron entered flying around as a female powerhouse that wasn't Ms. Marvel, I shoulda just left the theater

I enjoyed the other scenes though
