Deadpool doesn't even have a writer, director, etc yet.  Green Lantern is already in pre-production.  He should have no problem doing both if us comic people can handle him playing both roles. "

This might actually get me interested in seeing a GL movie. I don't read much GL, and having Justin Timberlake play the lead would definitely have me spending my $10 on something else.

I don't have a problem with him doing both....We seem to forget he was Hannibal King and nobody cared that he was Deadpool as well and those are both Marvel characters

No. No no no. I'm not likeing this, I guess he's the best out of the three, but I hate the idea of him being Deadpool and Hal. I would just rather have somone else entirely. I won't see Hal Jordan, I'll just see Ryan Reynolds in green.

I'm tired of Hollywood casting dudes that already have a hollywood gig, it's disgusting seriously, Ryan Reynolds "deadpool" now Hal Jordan, c'mon enough already, why not cast an unknown person or someone that HASN'T played a Super - Hero, enough Ryan Reynolds is a HORRIBLE ACTOR and that's a FACT. These movies are so iconic that the actors have to become the character is the actor/ actress

For example: Most people (non viners and non fans) would see Hugh Jakman and imideatly think Wolverine, not Van Helsing and not Leopold but Wolvie
People see Robert Downey Jr. and think Iron Man, Edward Norton - Hulk... etc...

but for example people see Nic Cage and don't imideatly thing Ghost Rider but know the guy...

Now if Ryan Reynolds is Hal Jordan people are gonna see Hal Jordan/ Green Lantern not the guy from Blade and when the Deadpool movie comes out they won't think Ryan Reynolds - Deadpoo.......l they're going to think The guy who was the green Lantern is in a funnyman's red suit with swords!!!!

Now that I've thought about this for a bit, I'm actually really disappointed in this decision. To me, Hal seems like he wouldn't be joking around much, and Renyolds seems drawn to comedic roles most of the time. GL's are supposed to be space cops, and I just can't see RR as even a regular cop. He's just too goofy, in my opinion. It seems to me, Renyolds is wh*ring himself out to the comic book movie community...

I think Bradley Cooper would have been a way better choice, since he at the time, he's slightly lesser known, but seems to be hitting a box-office stride with a huge hit in The Hangover. People aren't going to be associating him with other roles (like Sora discussed), like "Hey, it's that guy who was drunk in Vegas!" or "Hey Hal's the douchey boyfriend from Wedding Crashers!" (I have to remind some people he was that guy, still).

I'm going to go offset my disappointment in this with "How I Met Your Mother"....

...as long as the movie doesn't suck. Although it seems like he got the role because he is a popular actor.

I don't hate the guy but I am disappointed.  I guess we can take solace that it isn't Justin Timberlake.
