A race of immensely powerful immortals living on Oa, the planet at the center of the universe, who founded and run the Green Lantern Corps.

Appa Ali Apsa

Appa Ali Apsa once assumed human form to travel Earth with Hal Jordan and Oliver Queen. Originally he joined the two heroes to observe mankind but he found himself befriending both earthmen. After he used his power to save his friend Hal Jordan, the other Guardians deemed that Appa had been corrupted by emotion. He was strippped of his immortality and returned to the Guardians original homeworld of Maltus. Appa's powers were restored by his bretheran who appointed him the custodian of Oa after the first destruction of the central power battery. However lonliness led to madness and Appa created a Mosaic world on Oa of all of the places he had visited in his earlier life. He planned to rule over this planet as a God but was stopped by the combined powers of the Guardians and the Green Lanterns of Earth.
Black Lantern of Maltus

A Guardian of the Universe who fell trying to retrieve the box containing Parallax from Larfleeze and his guild. He was resurrected as a Black Lantern during the Blackest Night.
Dawlakispokpok

Dawlakispokpok left his fellow Guardians and raised a family with his Zamaron wife. Together they attempted to rewrite history and destroy Krona before he could unleash evil upon the universe. Dawlakispokpok employed dangerous method that threatened the fabric of time, forcing Ganthet, Percival, and Hal Jordan to stop his plan.
Ganthet

Once a Guardian of the Universe, Ganthet was exiled from Oa along with Sayd, a fellow Oan. They went on to found the Blue Lantern Corps, the heralds of Hope. Ganthet inducted himself into the Green Lantern Corps to aid in the fight for the Blackest Night.
Guardian 7

Guardian 7 was one of The Guardians of The Universe who gave Sodam Yat the power of Ion and was present during the final battle against The Anti-Monitor and The Sinestro Corps. He died sacrificing his life in an attempt to destroy Superman-Prime.
Herupa Hando Hu

Herupa Hando Hu was one of the Guardians of the Universe. After the Crisis on Infinate Worlds he instituted a plan to reunite the Guardians with their female counterparts, the Zamarons. Herupa Hando Hu bested the Zamaron leader Nadia Safir in combat, taking her as his consort and leading the Guardians and Zamarons out of the universe. He later return with Nadia to earth to select a few chosen humans who would become the universe's "New Guardians".
John Stewart

After being mind-linked with Appa Ali Apsa, John Stewart began to evolved into the first mortal Guardian of the Universe. His experiences as caretaker for the Mosaic community on Oa completed the process, and he was welcomed by the other Guardians as a brother. However, John lost his new power and status when Hal Jordan destroyed the Green Lantern Corps shortly ater.
Krona

As a Maltusian, Krona is virtually immortal and invulnerable; he possesses vast psionic powers. He is obsessed with finding the origin of the universe itself and how it came into existence. Recently, he has been revealed to be the main antagonist of the "Brightest Day" story arc.

Pazu Pinder Pol

One of the 22 Guardians that battled Appa Ali Apsa. Pazu Pinder Pol is the one who listened to Hal Jordan and had the Guardians change their battle tactics and made it possible to defeat the "Mad Guardian".
Sayd

Sayd was a female member of the Guardians of the Universe who, along with Ganthet, left the group during the Sinestro Corps War for embracing her emotions. She went on to found the Blue Lantern Corps with Ganthet.
Scar

The Guardian who has come to be known as "Scar" was horribly burned during the Guardians' battle with the Anti-Monitor. Infected with evil and overwhelmed by Nekron's influence, she has worked to destabilise the Green Lantern Corps from within and to limit their effectiveness in fighting the Blackest Night.
Sodam Yat

Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds #2 refers to Sodam Yat as the last of the Guardians of the Universe.
Uatu the Guardian

Amalgam of Uatu the Watcher and a Guardian of the Universe
