PositivesHonestly? My biggest positive of this film is Groot - which is a good and bad thing. He is easily the most charming and entertaining character of the whole movie. Its simple and it works. His interactions are very well handled and timed and the way Rocket sort of gives insight to what more he is saying is pretty funny. Especially the mid credit scene - which is hilariously cute. Star-Lord is also a pretty nice character, but even though he was clearly suppose to be the lead and most im...

As good as the Avengers 2

The first full venture of the Marvel Cinematic Universe away from planet Earth (aside from the Asgard stuff and space elves from Thor) this movie successfully transitions from the Earth based heroes to a cosmic scale. Fans of the movies that are not comic fans are going to find themselves a little lost in terms of who is what, with the only connection to the other movie being the Collector, who was only seen briefly in Thor: The Dark World. In my opinion, the Avengers was a great movie, bringi...

    Hooked on a Feeling! 3

“Guardians of the Galaxy” introduces audiences to the cosmic side of the Marvel universe. If you are following Marvel Studio’s movies, then the Thor movies have dipped your toe in the water, but Guardians defiantly throws you in the deep end. In the late 1960s, artist Jack Kirby, along with several other writers and artists, began creating a cosmic universe full of aliens, empires, and other cosmic threats. The reason this was done, was mainly to indulge Kirby’s desire to...

    What a Bunch of A-Holes 2

Written by James Gunn and Nicole Perlman Directed by James Gunn10 films and 6 years in to this proven experiment, it isn’t hyperbole to call Guardians of the Galaxy the riskiest looking venture for the sure footed and colossal Marvel Studios. Guardians is a feature based around an obscure ramshackle team from the Marvel cosmic side of things, defiantly lacking the comic book name power to draw the mainstream. A cultural cache that doesn’t belong to cult famous James Gunn (Slither, S...

    Galactically Great Guardians! 0

Marvel did a superb job on this film; it’s clear that they’re world building and expanding for the future and it shows. I found Guardians of the Galaxy to be entirely fun and entertaining movie. One of it’s few weaknesses, like so many team movies is that we have very little when it comes to the background of the characters and they try to give everybody some screen time, and disappointingly not everybody gets enough—even major characters such as Gamora and Drax don&rsquo...

    You're Welcome 0

Guardians of the Galaxy has became my favorite Marvel film. There is genuine heart in this film, something that is rare, but amazing to see in a comic book film. Reading up before seeing it, I can see why some would dislike it, it is pretty far from the comics, but after reading them, they could be a little complicated to make into a movie. This movie is beautiful and that is something I have been waiting to say about a Marvel movie for a long time. The characters are relatable and the comedy i...

    Entertaining...but 0

I really looked forward to seeing this movie and while it did not disappoint with action and the overall characters being brought to life, I did have a slight issue with Gamora. I think Zoe Saldana is a great actress and definitely in good shape. But when I picture Gamora, in my mind, I think of her as more shapely with fully defined curves in the classic big boob, tiny waist, green-skinned beauty style. It was OK to me, but maybe they should have her develop her backside a little more too. I am...

One of the Best Marvel Movies Ever Made 0

Guardians of the Galaxy was never the most popular Marvel super team, so it was a little surprising that out of all of Marvel's back catalog, this property got chosen for the big screen, leapfrogging ahead of so many other projects. While three of the five member team look pretty human, one is an anthropomorpic raccoon, and the other is a living tree, meaning the film was going to be heavily reliant on CGI characters, not a good sign on paper. It's also a hard team to introduce with varying and co...
